Serenity tucked her phone into her pants pocket, preparing to head back into the store when she spotted her sister Liberty stepping out.
“Liberty, where are you headed p>
“I’m off to grab some ingredients to cook for you girls. Please don’t order takeout for lunch; it’s not healthy to rely on it too much p>
“Seren, keep an eye on Sonny,” she added.
Serenity didn’t try to stop her sister from going to get the ingredients; instead, she reminded Liberty to be cautious while on the road.
Today, Serenity chose to ride her e-bike to work instead of driving her new car. It was simply more convenient and faster, especially since she wanted to avoid the dreaded rush hour traffic.
“Liberty, I’ll send you some money,” she called out.
Serenity wanted to ensure that her sister wouldn’t have to dip into the food budget provided by her husband, so she transferred some funds to Liberty.
Liberty hopped on her e-bike and headed to the market, confident she had enough money to buy groceries for her sister as well.
After watching Liberty ride away, Serenity went back inside the store. Sonny, having visited the store before, was familiar with Jasmine and was calm—he didn’t cry or fuss when his mother left him. Instead, the little boy wandered around, eagerly exploring the books and pens within his reach.
His curiosity was clearly aroused.
“Did your husband call?” Jasmine teased, giving her a knowing wink. “He must really miss you to reach out during work hours p>
“He called to check if my money-hungry relatives had been in touch,” Serenity replied with a chuckle.
“Oh, that’s just him showing he cares,” Jasmine said. “Seren, have you thought about pursuing a real relationship with Mr. York p>
“I do believe he’s a good man after spending so much time with him, but we’ll see how things develop,” Serenity responded thoughtfully.
Zachary still seemed to keep his distance from her, maintaining a wall around himself. Serenity didn’t want to come on too strong, so she decided to take a more laid-back approach for now.

Serenity reflected on the light kiss they shared that morning, surprised that neither of them took things further. She felt as though she had struck gold, realizing how innocent Zachary was in that regard. It’s quite uncommon for a man his age to possess such innocence.
This also indicated that Zachary was indifferent to romantic relationships. It was no surprise that his grandmother had to put in so much effort to bring them together. Without Nana’s involvement, Zachary’s temperament suggested that he might be lucky to find a partner by the time he turned fifty.
“Jasmine, what are some good gifts for men?” Serenity asked.
“Are you planning to give your man a gift?” Jasmine responded with curiosity.
“He has helped me so much, and I want to show my appreciation,” Serenity explained.
Jasmine’s enthusiasm was palpable. “I’ve noticed that my mother usually buys my father clothes, ties, watches, and shoes. He enjoys drinking, so sometimes she gifts him fine wine as well p>

“I’m unsure about his size, and his wardrobe is entirely black. I suggested he try some color, but he immediately dismissed the idea. He looked glum, and his tone was icy when he told me not to worry about his clothing choices,” Serenity admitted.
Jasmine chuckled. “Your man seems tough and unyielding; wearing a black suit only enhances that stern demeanor. I can tell he’s climbed high on the corporate ladder, outpacing many of his peers p>
“Just consider what he enjoys and choose a gift based on that,” she advised.
However, Serenity felt lost. The main issue was that she had no idea what his preferences were.
“You could ask Grandma May for help,” Jasmine suggested, offering a solution.
Serenity thought this was a great idea and promptly called Grandma May for advice.
