Serenity walked alongside Shawn into the shop, carrying her nephew.
“Oh, Sonny’s here! Come here, Sonny. Give me a hug,” Jasmine exclaimed as she got up to take Sonny from Serenity’s arms. She then sat down and asked him, “Would you like some pastries p>
Sonny looked at his aunt.
“Give him a piece, but don’t let him have too much or he won’t eat his lunch,” Serenity advised.
She took the diaper bag from Shawn and placed it under the cash register.
“My sister decided to look for a job today, so she asked me to watch Sonny. She’ll be here in the afternoon,” Serenity explained.
Jasmine handed Sonny a piece of pastry.

Jasmine set the pastry down and carried him to the kitchenette to wash his hands.
She believed Liberty had raised Sonny well. Any claims about him being naughty were just typical child behavior. Parents often worried that something was wrong with their child’s mind if they sat in a corner all day like a bump on a log.
Kids had it tough; they were scolded for being naughty and questioned about their intelligence when they weren’t being disruptive.

Every time she saw Sonny, Jasmine thought about getting married and having an adorable child of her own.
“Liberty finally took the first step. I told Shawn about it, but he’s still learning the ropes right now and can’t help Liberty find a job in finance. I asked my uncle, but he said they aren’t hiring at the moment,” Jasmine shared.
She felt guilty for bringing it up.
Shawn felt bad too.
Although he was set to take over the company, he was still young and trying to figure everything out.
Since Shawn was not prepared to take charge, he lacked the authority to assign individuals to crucial departments and significant positions. He could only assist in non-managerial roles.

Zachary noted that his company’s finance department was also not hiring.
“Liberty used to work in finance, and she has the experience, so I’m sure she won’t have trouble finding work,” he added.
Jasmine was confident that Liberty would successfully return to the workforce. She believed that Liberty would have her choice of companies rather than the other way around.
Shawn opened his mouth, wanting to contribute to the conversation, but ultimately decided to remain silent.
“Shawn, you should get to work. Uncle might deduct your wages if you’re late every day,” Jasmine urged her cousin to leave.
Shawn reluctantly glanced at her. He hadn’t spoken much with Serenity.
“Yeah, Shawn. Hurry to work. Don’t arrive late and leave early; the entire organization is watching you,” Serenity commented.
The pressure of being an heir could be overwhelming, as the family was quick to dismiss anyone who failed to meet expectations and handle responsibilities.
Shawn was not the only heir in the Lowe family; he had cousins ready to take his place.
While he might be suitable for the role, Shawn would encounter challenges in succeeding his father if he continued to act on his whims.
With the girls urging him to get to work, Shawn had no choice but to take his leave.
