Zachary paused before responding, “The woman who scratched your car this morning happens to be the sister of my nana’s lifesaver. They only have each other, and she’s a housewife with no income. They’re really concerned about being able to afford the repairs to your car p>
Duncan replied, “What a coincidence! I can’t believe she’s the sister of your grandma’s lifesaver. How did you find out p>
Zachary fabricated an answer. “My nana has a fondness for her lifesaver and often seeks her company. Today, she noticed that Liberty seemed down, so she asked what was wrong. That’s when Hunt shared the details p>
“Hunt? Is that her last name? The woman who damaged my car is Liberty Hunt. What’s the name of your grandma’s lifesaver p>
“Her name is Serenity Hunt p>
“They must be sisters, given the names. I’ll let this go since she’s related to your grandma’s lifesaver. The money is not a big deal for me, but I am the one affected here. I can’t just let her off the hook; otherwise, she might end up damaging someone else’s car without learning a lesson p>
Duncan Lewis, at thirty-five, was the fourth son in the Lewis family. Although he didn’t take over the family business, he carved out his own path by establishing Lewis & Co, which managed several subsidiary businesses. Duncan was a self-made billionaire.
Known for his straightforward and loyal nature, Duncan had navigated the gray areas of the law in his younger days. The scar on his face stood as a testament to his tumultuous past. However, he chose not to have surgery to remove it, believing the scar added a certain character to his appearance.
“If you want to teach her a lesson, consider filing a claim against her if the cost isn’t too high. I p>
“Please, can you give her a break for my nana’s sake and charge her less p>
Ten thousand dollars seemed like a trivial amount to affluent individuals such as Zachary and Duncan. Even without a job or a steady income, Liberty could manage to come up with ten thousand dollars by borrowing if necessary.
“It’s just ten thousand dollars. I can get her to pay half of it. A few thousand bucks can really sting for a housewife like her. Hopefully, this will serve as a reminder for her to be more cautious on the road and avoid bumping into other people’s cars p>
Fortunately, his car was parked safely by the side of the road. The life of a sweet child could be in jeopardy if she found herself caught in heavy traffic.

“It’s no trouble at all. Speaking of which, your grandma seems fond of that Serenity girl. Even though she saved your grandma’s life, she could have received a considerable reward. What makes your grandma want to keep in touch with her? Didn’t Grandma May even suggest that you should intervene on their behalf p>
Zachary responded quietly, “In a way, Nana feels we don’t spend enough time with her p>
Grandma May was eager for her grandsons to settle down because she longed for the sound of great-grandchildren’s laughter in her home. She often joked about offering fifty million for a great-grandson and five hundred million for a great-granddaughter.
The York family had been fortunate in having grandsons but had not been blessed with daughters or granddaughters. Grandma May had hoped for a granddaughter, but each of her daughters-in-law had given her three grandsons. Her grandsons were her only hope for great-granddaughters.
Duncan then paused and reflected, “You know how the elderly can be. When my nana was still alive, she would bug me every single day about getting married. My brothers and I got so tired of it that we started avoiding home. Now that she’s gone, we actually miss her nagging p>
It’s often true that people don’t realize the value of what they have until it’s gone.
Out of Duncan’s three siblings, he was the only one still single. The entire family, including his young nephew, constantly pressured him about finding a wife.
“You’re thirty-five, nearing forty. Of course, they’re going to be on your case about tying the knot. If you wait any longer, you’ll be practically ancient by the time your child arrives. People might even mistake your child for your grandchild,” Zachary teased.
To be honest, had it not been for Nana’s relentless nudging, Zachary wouldn’t be considering marriage anytime soon. He had always been the most devoted grandson, and he planned to wait until he turned thirty-five before thinking about settling down.
Even though Zachary was now married, he wasn’t entirely convinced about spending the rest of his life with Serenity. Just as he explained to Nana, he needed to assess Serenity’s character before he could truly open his heart and invest in their relationship.
Duncan couldn’t help but laugh. “I’ll spoil my child just like a grandchild!” To which Zachary could only respond with silence.
