Old Mrs. York hung up the phone after finishing her conversation. She felt she had gained something today; at the very least, she learned that her eldest grandson was beginning to see things more clearly.
She sighed, thinking, “I’ve worried so much about that brat’s happiness that it’s turning my hair gray.” Zachary stared at his phone for a moment before sending a message to Serenity, informing her that he had a lunch meeting with a client and couldn’t come over. Serenity’s reply was almost instantaneous.
Serenity: (OK.) Zachary’s expression darkened.

The petty and jealous man overlooked what he had promised himself multiple times. He had vowed he would never be a green-eyed monster, yet he found himself feeling exactly that because of Elisa.
