“I saw Serenity with Shawn while I was delivering her a coat p>
Josh was left speechless.
With his mouth agape, Josh struggled to find the words before finally saying, “It’s a misunderstanding. I’m sure it’s just a misunderstanding. Sometimes, what you see isn’t the entire truth, Zachary. Don’t sulk like you did before. You need to give your wife a chance to explain p>
“Shawn confessed his feelings to her p>
Josh paused, then replied, “Shawn is my idol. He’s bold and courageous. Mr. Lowe raised him well to be his successor p>
Zachary shot Josh a disapproving look.
Josh rubbed his nose and smiled, “Zachary, maybe I should ask Mr. Chaplin to buy you tons of green paint p>
Zachary scowled.
“Here’s a question for you: Did you see Serenity accepting Shawn’s feelings? What did they talk about p>
After a brief silence, Zachary replied, “I saw Serenity holding a duster in one hand and a bouquet in the other as she came out of the shop to throw the roses in the trash can. Then, she had a long conversation with Shawn, but I couldn’t hear what they were saying p>
“I also saw Shawn trying to grab her hand p>
With his eyes gleaming with curiosity, Josh eagerly asked, “Did he manage to grab her hand p>
“No.” Serenity swatted his hand away with the duster.
“Oh,” Josh commented, “So he didn’t hold her hand. What are you jealous about then? It looks like Serenity has turned down Shawn p>
Tension creased Zachary’s face as he remained silent.
He was aware that Serenity did not reciprocate Shawn’s feelings; she had sent him numerous text messages detailing the situation.
Yet, Zachary felt disgruntled and was consumed by his emotions.
“Zachary, you fell for Serenity because of her charm. Just because you like her doesn’t mean you can stop anyone else from liking her as well. It’s similar to how Elisa has feelings for you. Was Serenity jealous when she learned that Elisa likes you p>
In an effort to enlighten his best friend and boss, Josh adopted a love guru persona.
The entire company should be grateful for Josh, as their lives would become unbearable without him by Zachary’s side.
Zachary responded sulkily, “She knows Elisa likes me. She even suggested ways for Elisa to pursue me p>
Josh was momentarily speechless.
“Serenity doesn’t even realize you’re the esteemed Mr. Zachary York, you know p>
Defending Serenity, Josh continued, “Shawn has known her for over a decade; they’re childhood friends… Well, fine, they’re not exactly childhood friends. Alright? Stop glaring at me. Your look could kill p>
With a hint of amusement, Josh added, “If Shawn likes Serenity, that’s his concern. She can’t control him or stop him from having feelings for her, okay? Everything is fine as long as she doesn’t accept Shawn’s feelings or start a relationship with him behind your back p>
“You have a good eye for Mrs. Right. There’s no need for jealousy or envy; that’s how other men should feel. You’re the one who gets to go home to her p>
Before experiencing love, Josh struggled to comprehend Zachary’s pettiness and jealousy. Every time Zachary felt envious, he transformed into a green-eyed monster. Josh felt sympathy for Serenity, as she was stuck with someone so petty like Zachary.
Zachary remarked coolly, “I can’t stand Shawn, let alone any other man.” Jealousy would consume him entirely.
Josh responded with a smile, “I was only speaking metaphorically. I didn’t mean anything by it.” Zachary merely scoffed, offering no further comment.
