She was already upset with him. Clive had the opportunity to take her to a movie for a change to relive their date nights, but he ended up dozing off in his chair once they arrived. This irritated Alice.
In the end, they left before the movie concluded.
Once outside the theater, Clive regained his energy. He used to watch even the most cringe-worthy romance films when they first started dating, staying for the entire credits while remembering the plot better than she did. Now, married, he would fall asleep the moment they stepped into the theater.
