Serenity entered her sister’s small kitchen and began washing the vegetables as she responded, “I picked up a few dresses. My mother-in-law helped me choose them; she has excellent taste. The gowns she selected are all stunning p>
However, they were quite expensive.
She discreetly asked the clerk and discovered that if she were to buy the dresses her mother-in-law had chosen, she could afford only two or three at most.
Even though it was Zachary’s money, Serenity still felt guilty about the expense.

The doorbell rang.
“Go see who’s at the door, Seren. My hands are dirty,” Liberty called, urging her sister to answer the door.
Serenity stepped out of the kitchen and approached the door.
“It should be Mrs. Lane and Sonny. Mrs. Lane—what are you doing here p>
To her surprise, the person at the door was not Mrs. Lane or Sonny, but Olivia.
“Serenity, is your sister home? I-I came to chat with her. Where’s Sonny? I’d like to see him as well p>
Olivia appeared a bit intimidated by Serenity now.
“Do you want to chat with my sister at this hour? Are you planning to convince her to prepare a meal for you? What’s the matter? Does your new daughter-in-law not cook for you? Doesn’t she whip up a seafood feast for you p>
Serenity couldn’t help but be sarcastic when discussing Olivia. In the past, whenever Olivia brought her daughter and family over, it was Serenity and Liberty who cooked for them. The family loved seafood, so every time they visited, they expected Liberty to buy and prepare a seafood feast.
After the meals, they would even take the leftovers home. Once they left, Hank would always blame Liberty for the expense, suggesting that she should use her own money to pay for the food that fed her in-laws.
Olivia appeared embarrassed. Since it was too costly to stay in a hotel, Hank had rented a four-bedroom house with two living rooms for the entire family.
Every day, Olivia and Chelsea brainstormed ways to get Jessica, Hank’s busy secretary, to cook for them. How could she possibly find time to serve his mother and sister?
At times, Olivia would skip meals out of frustration and leave home. However, she wasn’t truly running away; it was her way of protesting her son’s marriage to Jessica.
At that moment, Olivia hadn’t eaten and was longing for the Hunt sisters’ cooking.

“My sister is busy and can’t chat with you right now. Sonny isn’t home, either, so you won’t be able to see him. Please leave. If you want to see Sonny next time, please suggest a location in advance, and we can take him there instead p>
Olivia remained firm. Frustrated, she just wanted someone to talk to, but she was only familiar with the residents in Bright.
