Serenity was well aware that her money-focused relatives wouldn’t stop their pursuit. However, the family remained oblivious to the location where she and Liberty were staying.
Given the challenge of searching the entire city for their whereabouts, Serenity decided to set the issue aside and enjoy a pleasant dinner at her sister’s place.
Meanwhile, Zachary, who had been listening closely to the situation, took it seriously. He had directed Josh to compile a file on the Hunts, confident that he would receive updates soon.
Upon arriving at Liberty’s apartment, Serenity and Zachary encountered Liberty as she was taking the trash out.
“Liberty!” Serenity exclaimed, rushing towards her sister, delighted to see her.
“You’re here, Seren!” Liberty’s weariness melted away at the sight of her sister and brother-in-law.

“It’s just some fruit, Liberty,” Zachary replied, his thoughtful gesture slowly winning her over.
Though he was typically a man of few words, Zachary consistently demonstrated attentiveness and kindness towards Serenity. It would likely surprise Serenity to learn what Liberty thought of Zachary.
“Is Hank back yet?” Serenity asked affectionately, linking her arm with Liberty’s.

“Hank is on his way home and should be here soon. Sonny’s upstairs. My in-laws are here too; they’re watching over him while I take out the trash p>
Upon hearing that Liberty’s in-laws were present, Serenity’s brows furrowed slightly, though she chose to remain silent. Some matters were better kept between the sisters, and there was no need to voice everything in front of others.

The Browns were aware that Serenity had recently tied the knot.
Hank’s sister, Chelsea, had come to share some news with Liberty—she would be enrolling her children in a school located in the city. To facilitate this, the kids would be staying with Liberty so she could look after them. Since Liberty was already a stay-at-home mom, adding a few more children to her care wouldn’t be a problem. In fact, this arrangement had always been part of Chelsea’s plan, but Hank’s home lacked the space to accommodate her kids.
This year, Chelsea’s daughter was turning eleven and preparing to enter junior high, while her son was ten. It was clear that sharing a room wouldn’t work for the two of them. Chelsea also had a youngest son who was just three years old and could only fall asleep when an adult was nearby. With Serenity now married and moved out, Hank’s home had an extra room available for Chelsea’s two older children.
Chelsea had often voiced her frustrations to Hank about Serenity residing on his property. Hank had no obligation to provide shelter for Serenity, but Chelsea couldn’t help but feel resentment toward her for taking up space that could have been utilized for her own children. As time went on, Hank began to see Serenity as an unwelcome presence. This led to him having arguments with his wife, ultimately forcing Serenity to leave the house.
Meanwhile, Liberty called for Serenity and Zachary to come upstairs to the apartment. Just as they exited the elevator, Liberty heard her son crying.
“Sonny’s crying,” she remarked, noticing that Serenity seemed more anxious than she was. Liberty quickly took out her house keys and opened the door, commenting, “The children must be fighting over a toy.” It was common for Chelsea’s youngest son, who was a year older than Sonny, to engage in toy disputes during their playtime.
As Liberty entered the house, she saw Sonny rushing toward her, clutching his favorite toy.
