Since Jane learned the news from Yves, she felt that Ben lacked confidence in her and began to tread carefully around him. Additionally, his mother-in-law believed there was a social gap between them, which further fueled her concerns that Jane would be mistreated by the Johnsons. As a result, she opposed the marriage.

Recalling Serenity’s temper, Zachary hesitantly said, “I tried to gauge her limits about leaving me. She said she would pursue divorce if I ever cheated, abused, or lied to her repeatedly p>
“I started with a lie, but had to create more stories to cover it up. I’ve lied to her multiple times, even claiming I was away on business to attend your wedding p>
Ben replied, “I still recommend coming clean. I can’t predict how your wife will react, though. While we both might have rushed into our marriages, our circumstances are different p>
“Mr. York, you cannot avoid what’s coming. You might as well confront it directly p>
Zachary fell silent.
“Perhaps you should take some time to think it over. Choose a good moment to be honest with her in a different way p>
After much contemplation, Zachary expressed his gratitude to Ben.
“Thank you for your advice, Mr. Young-Johnson. I’ll consider my options,” Zachary said with a smile.
Ben replied, “We’re all human. I’m sure your sincerity will resonate with her. You’re already a couple and have developed feelings for each other. Although you’re feeling conflicted now, she will likely share your sentiments regardless of her decisions once she discovers who you really are p>
Falling in love was often easier than falling out of it. Few people mastered their emotions when it came to love.
Zachary expressed his gratitude to Ben once again.
“Don’t mention it, Mr. York. Feel free to reach out if you face any more challenges. Even though my wedding was yesterday, I’ve held the marriage license for a while now. Having gone through it, I have more experience than you newlyweds,” Ben said.
“I hope you can bring your wife next time, Mr. York. I believe my wife would enjoy having a friend p>
Zachary was aware of Jane’s background. She was friendly and down-to-earth, unlike many women from wealthy families. It was beneficial for Serenity to have a friend like Jane.
“I’ll bring my wife for a visit if the opportunity arises,” Zachary replied.
Ben grinned, “You can create opportunities, Mr. York p>
An opportunity wouldn’t materialize unless Mr. York was willing to make the trip.
Zachary stood up. “I’ve taken up enough of your time today, Mr. Young-Johnson. If you ever visit Wiltspoon, I’d be happy to show you around and treat you to dinner p>
Ben looked at his brother teasingly, “You can buy me dinner anytime, anywhere. But if you know a nice girl, please set Remy up for a date. He’s been off the radar by staying in Wiltspoon permanently, and I rarely go there. I don’t have many connections to introduce anyone to him p>
“The elder in my family is worried about whether he’ll ever meet someone p>
He was deeply immersed in the gossip until he was unexpectedly drawn into the conversation. His brother even asked Zachary to set him up on a date. Remy interjected, “Ben, Lee, and Tim are single and older than I am. You should start with them, not me p>
Ben replied, “They’re in Annenburg, so we don’t have any trouble encouraging them to take that major step. You, however, are heading back to Wiltspoon after New Year’s. We know nothing about your social life there, which is why we need to enlist Mr. York’s help p>
