Chapter 106
Mrs. Wallace was shocked when she saw Richard’s state. She wept thinking he was already dead. He had gone missing and was brought back by the people who took him after they were done torturing him.
Meanwhile, Mr Wallace wasn’t all that shocked to see Richard’s condition. He had been paying Richard a visit at the hideout and tried to convince Xavier to let his brother go, but the latter had refused.
Mrs. Wallace wasn’t aware of the business the father and sons were into, so she thought it had been kidnappers who took her son.
When Richard had gone missing, she had forced her husband to send a search team to look for him, but he always waved off her suggestion, saying Richard was just messing around. And now, she had to find her soon looking like a burnt steak.
“Michelle, you are coming back to the Wallace mansion,” Mrs. Wallace declared, staring at the wife of her son.
Michelle was very pleased when she heard from Mrs. Wallace. She couldn’t wait to go back to the mansion. But the next word that came out of Mrs. Wallace’s mouth shattered all the enjoyable imaginations she had planned on doing.
“You are going to take care of your husband. You can’t stay here while your husband is almost dying,” Mrs. Wallace added.
Mrs. Wallace looked like the type of person who wouldn’t speak first unless spoken to. But when she had seen Michelle speaking rudely to Selene on the internet, after exposing her plan with the other two girls, she couldn’t bear having such a poisonous daughter-in-law in her home.
She had to send her away so that she could learn from her mistakes and apologize to Selene. But since her son had returned out of nowhere, Michelle would not be staying with her parents anymore.
“But Some servants can help take care of him—” Michelle didn’t get the chance to complete her sentence when Mrs. Wallace pinned her with a glare.
“Servant or no servant, you are coming back to take care of Richard,” Mrs. Wallace stated firmly without leaving any more room for argument.
Robert couldn’t interfere so he just stood there with the rest of his family members as Richard was taken away carefully by Wallace guards.
Michelle went with them. She ordered the maids to have her clothes arranged. The Harrison driver would be bringing it for her.
“You have to find the people who did this to Richard, Thomas,” said Mrs Wallace. Tears were pouring out of her eyes when images of how he looked continued to flood her memories.
Mr Wallace stared at his wife, not sure if he should tell her the person who put Richard in his current condition was his son and girlfriend.
“Calm down Claudia,” he said to her, holding her shoulders which were shaking due to how she sobbed.
Claudia stared at him, confusion etched on her face.
“Do you already know the people that did this to him?” She asked him.
He wasn’t as angry as she thought he would be. Richard might not be the best son they’ve had but he was still their son. He looked too calm about the situation.
When Thomas didn’t respond to her, she grabbed his shirt and yanked him. “Who did this to our son?” She demanded.
She was ready to tear the person or people who turned Richard into what he looked like currently with her bare hands.
“It was Xavier,” Thomas responded. He had planned to marry his wife anyway. He had no plans of keeping the secret from her.
Claudia stared at Thomas with widened eyes, hoping she heard him wrong. They were in their room and there was no one there except the both of them.
“What?” She mumbled under her breath, hoping she heard him wrong.

Thomas didn’t get the chance to complete his sentence when Claudia stomped out of the room. He knew exactly where she would be going but he still decided to follow her.
It was obvious from her expression she didn’t want to hear anything else since her heart was fuming with anger, so Thomas didn’t bother to explain anything anymore. Xavier would be the one to do the explaining since they were heading to his mansion.
Selene and Xavier were having dinner. The dining room was silent except for the occasional clinking of cutlery against their plates.
Suddenly, they heard the screeching sound of a cat pulling over. They weren’t expecting any visitors. Selene stared at the entrance door, waiting for it to be pulled open so that she would see the person. But Xavier already knew who the person would be since he was expecting them.
“Xavier Wallace!!” Claudia called as she stormed into the living room, her face red with anger. “How dare you do such a thing like that to Richard? He’s your brother for crying out loud. Are you that heartless?” She questioned him.
“Mother, good evening to you too,” Xavier greeted, completely ignoring her question as if it was mere wind that just passed by.
Selene froze still, her spoon hanging in the air when she saw Mr. and Mrs. Wallace at the front door. She hadn’t expected them to come but she knew exactly why they came.
“I asked you a question,” she snapped.
Xavier dropped his spoon on his plate, knowing fully well that dinner was over.
“I did what I did to Richard because he deserved it.” He gave her an answer which only got her more confused.
“I don’t care if he deserved it or not. Richard is your brother, you shouldn’t treat him this way.” She glared at him.
“Claudia calm down,” Thomas tried to calm her down but she didn’t let him touch her. She was busy fuming.
“And you?” Claudia turned to Selene who felt awkward just sitting there and listening to them speak. “Who do you think you are to stay in Xavier’s house? Are you just another object to warm his bed?” She questioned.
“She’s my wife!!” Xavier yelled.
