Chapter 178
Selene walked inside the Dreamscape building, heading straight to a specific meeting room.
Since her second movie had been completed, discussions regarding which city the movie would be promoted would be taken into consideration.
Selene recognized a figure from the corners of her eyes, but she ignored the latter and headed straight to the meeting room.
Michelle sighted Selene, and was ready to match towards her and pull her hair, but Selene simply ignored her while subtly rolling her eyes.
Although Selene didn’t say a word to Michelle, her actions did embarrass Michelle, and she was forced to stand rooted as she watched Selene’s back disappear.
’I will wait for her to come back,’ Michelle thought to herself as she went back to her discussion with her manager, asking for any slots possible for a movie.
Selene walked into the meeting room and sighted Kael, other cast and directors who had already arrived.
She greeted them with a warm smile, which they returned also, before they dove into the heart of their meeting.
“I was thinking Glamourwood would be the best city to start promoting Shadows of Deception,” director Jax stated.
“Fameville looks good too,” Kael added. “It’s sophisticated and highly developed. However, there has been a massive killing in glamourwood all of a sudden. I think it would be too dangerous to go on a world tour over there p>
Murmurs could be heard among them as they considered Kael’s words.
Glamourwood had appeared on the news channel for the past two days consistently, reporting the massive killing of underaged girls, and adult women.
“That’s right! The criminal still hadn’t been caught yet,” Mian, who was seated beside Selene, said.
Selene recalled Kace mentioning the previous day he visited that Xavier was in Glamourwood, taking care of some business.
“I agree,” Selene added. “It would be too dangerous to have a world tour in glamourwood until the serial killer is caught p>
Opinions were taken into consideration, then it was decided that glamourwood was too dangerous to step into.
Even the citizens were shaking in fear, and looking for ways to leave the city.
Glamourwood was a great city to promote movies, but no one was willing to sacrifice their safety all in the name of money.
The meeting was adjourned, and the date of the world tour was decided.
Selene walked out of the meeting room. Since she didn’t have anything else to do, she planned to go home and take a nap.
’I think I’ve grown lazy these past few days,’ she thought to herself.
As soon as Selene left the elevator, she met Michelle, whose arms were crossed as she glared at Selene.
Selene sighed as she rolled her eyes. She wasn’t in the mood to deal with Michelle like she always did.
Xavier still hadn’t returned home, and he didn’t reply to her text which was sent that morning. She was worried that something bad had happened to him.
Selene intended to walk past Michelle, but the latter grabbed her hands and pulled her back.
“I want to talk to you,” Michelle said.
Selene yanked her wrist out of Michelle’s hold with enough force, which had the latter wince in pain.
“I don’t want to talk to you Michelle, I thought that message was clear,” Selene retorted.
“Are you Anastasia?” Michelle asked, her eyes shooting flames at Selene.
“What if I am? What if I’m not?” Selene questioned back, the corners of her lips rising.
Michelle’s heart raced, her eyes trembling in fear.
“Why? Are you scared that I could be Anastasia?” Selene asked, which only had Michelle’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“Don’t beat around the bush! Are you Anastasia? Yes or no p>
Selene sighed, her eyes darting around as she took her time to respond, a time that Michelle could hear flying by even though there was no sign of a clock in sight.
“I don’t know,” Selene replied, giggling when she saw Michelle’s dumbfounded expression. “You look like a fool p>
“You can’t be Anastasia, she died two years ago,” Michelle retorted tightly while convincing herself internally the person who stood before her wasn’t Anastasia.
Although Selene didn’t give a clear reply, she couldn’t help but be scared of what the truth would be.
’If Selene is Anastasia, I’m done for,’ Michelle thought to herself.
Selene giggled again.
“I thought you said she disappeared p>
Michelle paled.
“I understand that you were doubtful about my identity the first time we met, that’s why you gave me the orange when I came to the Harrison mansion, am I right? It’s a disappointment you didn’t recognize me at all p>
Michelle paled even more.
“You wanted to know if I would get an allergic reaction. But thankfully, Xavier came and saved me p>
Michelle was already as stiff as a statue as she took in Selene’s words.
Taking a step closer to Michelle, Selene leaned towards Michelle’s ears.
“Now, tell me what you think. Am I Anastasia, your older sister? The one you and your family loathed so much after old Harrison left all his properties to her? The sister you tormented, beat senseless, and even killed her unborn child? The one you forced to sign away everything she had worked for, leaving her with nothing? And when she fell off that cliff, you all conveniently concluded she was dead simply because her body was never found.
“But did it ever cross your mind, even for a second, that maybe she survived? That maybe she’s been hiding in plain sight, posing as someone else, biding her time while she carefully planned her revenge? Did you ever think that the Anastasia you so eagerly erased might still be alive, waiting for the perfect moment to return and take back everything you stole from her p>
Selene leaned back, her eyes focused on Michelle, enjoying how the latter’s eyes trembled uncontrollably.
Selene raised her hand and patted Michelle on the head ever so lightly, as if she was patting a child who just won a school’s competition.
