CHAPTER 15
ANNA’S POV

Ryan’s hand never left my thigh the whole ride home. One hand on the wheel, the other gripping me like he couldn’t let go. His touch wasn’t soft. It was firm, possessive. And even though he didn’t say a word the entire drive, the tension was loud. His jaw was tight, his breathing rough, and when I glanced sideways, his eyes were still burning with the same row hunger from earlier.
My heart was pounding the whole time. I couldn’t stop biting my lip, couldn’t stop shifting in my seat because the anticipation was just too much. I’d waited so long for this. I’d imagined it a thousand different ways. But nothing, not one single fantasy could prepare me for what it actually felt like, knowing I was finally about to have him. Really have him.
The second we got inside, he didn’t even finish locking the door before he spun around, pinned me against it, and kissed me like he might die if he didn’t. His mouth crashed into mine, hot and deep and full of desperation. I barely had time to catch my breath. I kissed him back, hard, grabbing his face while he grabbed my ass, his hands rooming every inch of me.
We didn’t stop kissing as we moved. Our bodies just kept colliding, stumbling together, bumping into walls. His hands were everywhere, on my waist, my back, cupping my breasts over my dress. I couldn’t think. I didn’t want to. My fingers pulled at his shirt, trying to get it off, but he was already lifting me up like I weighed nothing, carrying me to his room while still kissing me like he needed to.
He laid me on the bed gently, but the way he looked at me as he hovered over me wasn’t gentle at all. It was intense. Almost wild. “Ryan, what’s wrong?” I asked, trying to pull his face up, but he turned away.

His fingernails… they looked like they grew longer. Sharper. But when he moved his hand again, they were back to normal. Like I’d imagined it.

He turned his back to me suddenly. His whole body was stiff, like he was trying to hold something in.
I sat up slowly, covering my chest with the blanket from behind me and walking over to him. “Ryan p>
Then I saw his eyes.
Red.
Like… red. A dark, glowing kind of red. I blinked. And just like the nails, they went back to normal a second later. But I knew what I saw.
And then his mouth opened as if he was trying to talk, but what I saw wasn’t normal either. His teeth, no, just one of them, looked long, sharp. A fang? It looked like it grew then shrank back instantly, like a glitch.

He said it quietly at first.

His voice was different. Way deeper. Not like his.

I jumped.
His fists were clenched, his body tight, as if he was in pain or about to explode. I could see every muscle shaking, his whole body trembling like he was barely holding himself together.
I didn’t say anything else. I just grabbed the blanket behind me, wrapped it around my body, and ran. My legs barely worked as I rushed out of his room, my heart hammering in my chest as if it was about to burst.
I didn’t know what just happened. I didn’t know what I saw.
