I pushed him away with what little strength I had left. Hatred and agony twisted together in my chest, burning
through every nerve.
“Get out. I never want to see you again p>
My father turned to his men. “Take my daughter to the hospital. Now p>
I looked up at him and said through clenched teeth, “Make sure he signs the divorce papers p>
“Don’t worry,” my father said calmly. “Leave that to me. He’ll sign whether he wants to or not p>
The bodyguards carried me away.
Nathan chased after us, shouting, “Vivian! Let me come with you, please! Your health comes first. The babies
matter too. I swear-Tiffany meant nothing. It was just a stupid phase. You’re the one I truly love p>
I turned my head, glaring at him with ice in my veins.
Tears welled in his eyes, and he gripped my arm like a drowning man clinging to driftwood.
“Love me?” I laughed bitterly. “What a joke. You gave her the blessed pendant my mother nearly died praying
for-and you say she meant nothing p>
“Nathan, you’re not fit to be a father. I’m ending this for good-I’m getting rid of the babies p>
His tears finally fell, his voice cracking in panic.
“No-please! I’ll give up everything. Don’t do this, don’t take them away from me. Just let me have something
to hold on to, please p>
But all I gave him was a look, Cold, Absolute, Final.
My father’s men blocked his path, keeping him from following.
Just as the bodyguard opened the car door and gently placed me inside, I caught a glimpse of Nathan
through the window.
His muffled sobs reached my ears through the glass.

I stared at him through the window, calm as still water.
