Sienna supported Candice, shooting a worried glance at her before turning on Benjamin. “Your wife is the reason my sister-in-law can’t even dance, and you have the gall to bring her here? What were you thinking? Help her, you idiot p>
Benjamin frowned. He looked from Rebekah to Candice, then turned and walked toward Candice.
“Benjamin!” Rebekah cried out, still in Justin’s grip. The memory of how Justin had beaten her and put her in the hospital three years ago was still vivid. Was he really going to let Justin take her away?
Benjamin turned back. “Rebekah, this is my uncle’s house. He knows where the spare clothes are better than I do p>
Without another word, he went to Candice’s side. He gently helped her to a nearby sofa and began examining her ankle, completely ignoring the crowd and his own wife.
Rebekah thought she was past being disappointed by him, but a dull ache still spread through her chest.
Three years ago, Benjamin had also brought her to a family dinner here. While he was occupied with the elders discussing business, Justin had dragged her into a small back room and beaten her until she’d nearly lost her life By the time. Benjamin found her, she was on the verge of unconsciousness.

At the time, Benjamin had seemed furious on her behalf. He had used his power to have Justin transferred out of the Forrester Group and had even given him a brutal beating to get justice for her. After that, he never brought her to any of his uncle’s gatherings.
This time, she had only come because he had threatened her. She had thought that with so many people around, in broad daylight, Justin wouldn’t dare try anything.
She had been wrong.
In front of everyone, Justin began pulling her toward the stairs. Rebekah wrenched her hand free and ignoring the stares lifted her dress and ran for the main entrance She didn’t care if Benjamin was watching; she knew that if she went with Justin, she might not make it out alive.

Benjamin, however, remembered the plan for later, which required Rebekah’s presence. He shook off Justin’s hand and ran after her.
The sun was bright outside. Rebekah ran down the paved driveway, regretting ever coming with Benjamin.
In the distance, a flashy red sports car approached. It paused at the main gate before being waved through respectfully by the guards.
