Jensen’s words made Rebekah laugh. After the whole true-and-false heiress ordeal with the Fletcher family, her expectations for family had plummeted. When she first met her three brothers and learned how wealthy they were, a new fear had taken root. She was afraid the Powells would be just another version of the Fletchers, and that her own anxieties would end up hurting her relationship with her brothers. But Jensen’s simple remark managed to dispel much of that fear, deepening her appreciation for their friendship.

Rebekah nodded. “Mr. Quinn was a great help to me p>
Blaze acknowledged this, his gaze then falling on Jensen. Rebekah, realizing her manners, quickly made the introduction. Blaze, this is my friend, Jensen. Jensen, this is my brother I told you about, Blaze p>
Jensen smiled at Blaze. “Nice to meet you, Blaze p>
“Mr. Hawthorne, please, just call me Blaze,” he replied, his tone less than friendly. He then asked, “Are you two here for dinner p>
Rebekah nodded. “I’m leaving tomorrow, so I wanted to treat my friend to a meal.” She then turned to say goodbye. “Since you two have business to discuss, we won’t keep you. We’ll head to dinner p>
She took Jensen’s arm and guided him toward the adjacent private room. Blaze’s eyes were fixed on her hand resting on Jensen’s sleeve, his expression darkening as if a fire had been lit within him. Had he found his long-lost sister only to have her snatched away by some random guy?
