“You’re a real model wife and mother, aren’t you?” Benjamin added with a sneer.
Faced with their scorn, Rebekah simply smiled and said nothing.
Her hand was practically useless, thanks to them. That one pot of soup had taken all the strength she had. Making anything else would have been impossible. She was done playing the role of the tireless servant for this father and son.
Seeing her silence, Benjamin threw down his fork and left, his mother trailing right behind him.
Old Mr. Forrester sighed. “Rebekah, don’t pay them any mind. They’re all out of their minds p>
His words made Rebekah chuckle. “I’m fine, Grandpa. You should eat. Finish up and get some rest p>
Old Mr. Forrester looked at her face, which had grown thinner over the past few days, and a new thought entered his mind for the first time.
Was he wrong to try and force Rebekah and Benjamin together?
The next afternoon, Rebekah changed her clothes and left the house. The air was hot and heavy. She wore a simple T-shirt and jeans that hugged her slender frame, her long hair tied back in a high ponytail. Her flawless skin was radiant and smooth; no one would ever guess she was a mother.
When she arrived at the designated spot, she immediately saw Jensen leaning against a modest sedan. It was impossible to miss him. He was dressed in a simple button-down shirt and trousers, the sleeves rolled up to his forearms, revealing toned muscles that were clearly defined in the sunlight. With his broad shoulders and narrow waist, he cut a striking figure.
He was looking off into the distance, his head slightly tilted back, revealing the sharp, clean line of his jaw. His perfect profile was like that of a fallen god, captivating and impossible to look away from.
As if sensing her gaze, he turned and met her slightly dazed eyes. A slow smile spread across his lips, instantly warming his stoic expression.

Rebekah realized she had been staring and felt a flush of embarrassment.
She walked over, offering a polite greeting. “Have you been waiting long?” Jensen shook his head. “Not at all. I just got here p>
Just as she was about to suggest they get going, he leaned in close The familiar, clean scent enveloped her, and the sudden wave of his masculine presence made her instinctively take a step back.
Jensen’s eyes darkened for a fraction of a second, but his voice remained smooth and teasing. “So, is my face that interesting? You seemed quite lost in thought p>
It’s fine to appreciate beauty, but it’s embarrassing to get caught looking.
A blush crept up her cheeks, and she quickly changed the subject. “I was just thinking about something else p>
“Is that so?” Jensen’s lips curved into a grin, the corners of his expressive eyes crinkling. It seemed his face had its uses after all.
Rebekah urged him to get moving, and he opened the passenger door for her. “I was afraid you’d be hungry, so I bought some snacks. See if there’s anything you like p>
She took the large bag he handed her. Inside was an assortment of snacks all of them high end brands. A quick mental calculation put the total at around two hundred dollars.
She paused, a faint sense of unease prickling at her. Jensen clearly
wasnt poor but he didn’t set
extravagantly wealthy either. Why would he spend so much on snacks?
