“You’re an Alpha?” Amelia asked in surprise.

She should’ve known. The way Seraphina carried herself,her presence, her authority, it was unmistakable. That was Alpha
energy.
Why hadn’t she seen it before?
And Velaris Pack… she’d heard the name once, in passing, when she’d overheard James and Aiden discussing a business deal.
It was one of the most powerful packs in the werewolf world. And it was led by a woman. And now, that very woman stood
before her.
“I’m sorry I didn’t introduce myself properly,” Seraphina said softly. “I’m Alpha Seraphina Wrenmoor of Velaris Pack. And this is Kael Blackwood, my Beta p>
Amelia forced out a small smile.
“And that makes me… the daughter of an Alpha?” she asked, her voice uncertain.
Seraphina nodded. “Yes. A future Alpha, too p>
Amelia blinked, struggling to process it.
This woman had just given her a new identity, a new name and now she was telling her she would be the next Alpha of Velaris? It felt impossible.
It all felt too big. Too sudden. Too unreal.
“You’re safe here. I promise,” Seraphina said gently, her eyes calm and sincere.
Amelia nodded. She glanced at Kael, who offered her a soft smile.
“You should rest now,” Seraphina added. “I’ll introduce you to everyone later.” She stood and walked out, Kael following
behind.
Amelia sat in silence, blinking slowly.
It sank in–she had just signed away everything she was.
She wasn’t Amelia Lopez anymore.
She wasn’t Amelia Miller,
She was Cassia Wrenmoor now.
Had she done the right thing?
A flicker of doubt crept into her heart. Seraphina… was still hiding something. Amelia could feel it. But she pushed the thought aside. She didn’t have the luxury of suspicion.
Not now.
All she wanted was to bring justice to her daughter’s killer.
To make Aiden pay for everything.

And that was all that mattered right now.
Meanwhile, at Red Moon Pack…
Aiden had just finished his press conference and stormed back to his office, locking the door behind him.
Guilt crashed over him in waves.
He stared at his hands, claws extended, blood running from the deep gashes he’d made. He didn’t care.
Shame. Pain. Regret.
He had lied to the world. Lied about the one person he should’ve protected.
He told them she took her own life.
But someone killed her. And deep down, he knew it.
He wanted to hunt them down. To shred them into pieces.

But he couldn’t open an investigation–not without exposing the truth and making the pack feel unsafe. His silence was a cage, and the pain was too much to bear.
There was only one way to ease it.
To shift. To run. To escape.
He let out a guttural sound as the shift overtook him.
It was violent–bones snapped, muscles tore, skin stretched. The pain was brutal, but it was nothing compared to what was inside him.
Seconds later, the man was gone.
Only the beast remained.
Aiden’s wolf was massive. A towering force of rage and grief.
His thick coat was a stormy grey laced with deep, earthy brown, like ashes mixed with soil.
His claws tore through the floor. His muscles quivered with barely–contained power.
But it was his eyes that told the real story.
They glowed red. Not with fury, but with devastating sorrow.
They were hollow. Haunted. Burning like dying embers.
And then–he ran.
He didn’t care where.
Didn’t care how hard he landed.
He just had to get away.
Away from the silence she left behind.
The office door creaked open. James stepped inside and froze.

Shards of glass lay scattered on the floor. Aiden’s torn clothes were piled near the shattered window.
James exhaled slowly. His eyes darkened with concern.
Aiden had shifted.
Fully.
And that could only mean one thing: rage.

James rushed to the window and peered out but saw nothing. No sign of Aiden. Just the plain sight of the outside.
A chill ran down his spine.
Aiden’s wolf form was uncontrollable. He didn’t recognize anyone–except his mate.
And now, with Amelia gone… anyone who crossed his path was prey.
James turned sharply and locked the office door behind him. He needed to find Aiden fast.
Just as he was walking away, he saw her.
Sofia.
She was heading toward Aiden’s office.
“Where’s Aiden?” she asked.
James didn’t want to answer. But he had no choice.
“He wants to be alone. No disturbances,” he said flatly.
Sofia narrowed her eyes. She glanced at the door, then back at James.
Something was off. She could sense it.
But she didn’t push.
“Well,” she said, “I was just going to let him know I’m heading home to pack my things. I’m moving in p>
James blinked. “You’re moving in already? He hasn’t even married you yet p>
“He announced the engagement publicly,” Sofia said smugly. “I have no doubt. Unless you’re planning to stop the marriage p>
She stepped closer, voice syrupy and sharp.
“Whatever you’re planning, James… I’d suggest you stop. I’m going to be the Luna soon. Might want to get on my good side p>
She turned on her heel and walked off.
James muttered under his breath. “Witch p>
And then he walked away.
