Morning broke in Velaris Pack, and the pack house was buzzing with activity. Maids hurried through the halls, gathering Cassia’s belongings and ensuring nothing she might need for the journey was forgotten. Within a short while, everything was ready.
After bidding farewell to Seraphina and Beta Kael, Cassia, Arthur, and Damien departed for the airport.
RED MOON PACK
Cassia sat quietly in the back seat of the car. Damien was beside her, his gaze fixed out the window, admiring the passing scenery as the vehicle crossed into Red Moon Pack territory.
Cassia, however, was far away in her thoughts.
The car rolled past the very place where she had once been ambushed and beaten nearly to death. The memories flashed unbidden, her body crumpled, the blood, the voices of the men claiming to be sent by Aiden. She closed her eyes tightly, drawing in a steadying breath until the images faded.
That Amelia had died. Buried with her daughter, Eva.
She was no longer Luna Amelia. She was Cassia Wrenmoor now…Future Alpha of Velaris, a healer, and a mother.
She was back in Red Moon not as a victim, but for justice. For her mother. For Eva. And this time, she intended to make every last one of them pay.
Damien glanced sideways and found her lost in thought. His voice was low but firm.

Her eyes fluttered open. “Yeah… I’m okay p>
She turned her gaze down to Arthur, his head resting peacefully on her lap. She brushed her fingers through his hair gently, determination sparking in her eyes. She would protect him at all costs. She would never let Aiden touch her son.
The car slowed, pulling to a stop in front of a grand mansion. Cassia’s eyes lingered on it with quiet suspicion.
“Ma’am, this is the mansion Beta James instructed me to bring you to,” the driver said, stealing cautious glances at her. His eyes carried recognition.
Cassia smiled faintly. Of course…Matthew. He had once been her chauffeur back when she was Luna, before being reassigned to drive Aiden. No wonder he kept looking at her as though seeing a ghost.
She gathered Arthur carefully into her arms and stepped out, Damien trailing behind with the luggage.
Inside, the mansion was elegant, its interiors tastefully arranged. Cassia’s eyes, however, narrowed. Its location was only a few blocks away from the Pack House, Aiden’s home. Why had they placed her so close?
Her thoughts were interrupted when a young woman appeared from the kitchen, smiling…until her expression froze in
shock.
“Luna Amelia…” she whispered.
Cassia’s lips curved faintly. “Cassia Wrenmoor,” she corrected.
The young woman flushed, bowing her head quickly. “I’m sorry. You look so much like our former Luna. Please forgive me.

Welcome to Red Moon Pack. I’ve prepared dinner for you and your son.” Her gaze drifted nervously toward Damien, whose presence filled the room with quiet authority.
“This is Doctor Damien Blackwood,” Cassia introduced calmly.
Kate, still blushing, extended a hand. Damien accepted politely, his voice smooth.
“And you are p>
“K-Kate,” she stammered, cheeks burning.
“Nice to meet you, Kate,” Damien said with an easy smile. Kate’s breath hitched.
Cassia noticed the way the girl looked at Damien, and her eyes rolled before she spoke curtly. “Kate, could you show us to our rooms p>
Kate nodded quickly, leading them upstairs. She showed Arthur’s room first, then guided them into another. Cassia set her son gently on the bed and surveyed the room. It was comfortable, more than adequate.
“I hope you enjoy your stay here with your husband, Mrs. Cassia,” Kate said, smiling sweetly.
Cassia froze, turning sharply toward her. Husband?
Before she could speak, Damien intervened smoothly. “Kate, why don’t you prepare another room for me? Cassia will take
this one p>
Kate hesitated, confusion flickering across her face. Still, she nodded and left with one of his bags.
When she was gone, Damien turned to Cassia. She was tucking Arthur in, her movements gentle but her expression clouded.
“Are you okay?” he asked softly.
Cassia sighed. “I’m fine, Damien p>
“You don’t look fine,” he pressed. “You’ve been distant since we crossed the border. Cassia… if it’s too much, we can go back to Velaris p>
Her head snapped up. “No. We’ve come too far. I won’t turn back now p>
Damien’s voice softened. “Just know… you can talk to me about anything. I’m here for you p>
Cassia gave a small smile. “Thank you. You should go… Kate’s waiting. She was practically blushing just from shaking your hand. Do you like her p>
Damien raised a brow. “Are you jealous p>
“What? No, of course not p>
“I’m yours alone, Cassia. And I’ll wait for you… until you’re ready p>
Her throat tightened as he turned and walked out, closing the door behind him.
Cassia sat on the edge of the bed, her fingers brushing over Arthur’s hair. His resemblance to Aiden stabbed at her heart, and old wounds reopened. Memories of Eva resurfaced, raw and burning.

She would find her daughter’s killer. She would make Aiden pay. And she would take back everything that was stolen from her.
A knock jolted her from her thoughts. It was Matthew, delivering the rest of their luggage. She thanked him briefly, then began unpacking, her resolve hardening.
She would see her mother soon, examine her illness, and then she would begin her real mission.
Meanwhile, in his office, Aiden sat staring at a bouquet of flowers. His chest tightened. He wasn’t doing this for Sofia, he was doing it for Ethan. For his son.
Carrying the flowers, he left his office and ran into James.
“I was just coming to see you, Alpha,” James said quickly. “Doctor Cassia has arrived. Matthew reported she came with her husband, who’s also a doctor, and her son p>
Aiden’s steps faltered. Husband?
James continued, “The welcome party has been arranged. I’ll send an invitation to her and her family p>
“Good,” Aiden muttered, jaw tight. “Make them feel welcome. Do everything necessary to ensure she gives us the cure. I’ll meet her at the party tonight p>
His eyes drifted to the dining room, where Sofia and Ethan sat together.
“Daddy!” Ethan jumped up, running into his arms. Aiden smiled faintly, ruffling his son’s hair before glancing at Sofia. Her eyes locked onto the flowers in his hand.
“Sofia,” he said quietly. “Can we talk p>
She rolled her eyes, but when Ethan looked at her pleadingly, she rose.
“I know I haven’t been the best husband, or father,” Aiden said, voice low and rough. “I’ve been trapped in the past, hurting both you and Ethan. But I want to change. I want a clean slate. I’ll treat you better, Sofia. I promise p>
He held out the flowers.
“Please p>
Sofia’s lips curved slowly as she accepted them. Inside, her heart leapt with triumph, though she masked it behind a controlled expression.
When Aiden leaned in to press a kiss to her cheek, Ethan beamed, hugging them both tightly. Sofia’s smile widened. At last, things were going her way.
“Let’s eat before the food gets cold,” Aiden said, sitting down.
From the staircase, James watched silently. His heart ached as he thought, This should have been Amelia and Aiden.
With a heavy sigh, he turned away.
