Sofia froze, too stunned to speak from the sting of Cassia’s slap. Her cheek burned hot, and for a brief moment fear flashed in her eyes, but she quickly masked it, straightening her shoulders.
“How dare you lay your hands on me?” she hissed, her voice rising with venom. “I am the Luna of this pack! With one word, I could have you dragged out of here and executed p>
Cassia smirked, her eyes cold. “Then do it. But remember, if I leave, your precious pack dies with me. Who knows, Sofia? Maybe you’ll be the next one struck down by the disease. And when it comes for you, there won’t be anyone left to save you p>
Sofia’s face flushed with rage. She raised her hand, aiming to slap Cassia back, but Cassia’s reflexes were faster. She caught Sofia’s wrist mid-air and locked eyes with her, her gaze sharp as a blade.
“I’m not the Amelia you once trampled on,” Cassia said, her voice low and steady. “Try me again, and I won’t go easy on you p>
With a sharp shove, she released Sofia’s wrist, sending her stumbling backward. Sofia gasped, nearly losing her balance as she staggered and fell to the floor.
Humiliation washed over her. Her heart pounded as she looked up at Cassia, realization hitting hard, this was no longer the weak Luna she once sneered at. This was an Alpha.
“You’ll pay for this,” Sofia spat, scrambling to her feet and brushing off her dress, her glare like poison.
Cassia turned her back, dismissing her, but her words cut like knives. “Next time, learn to knock before barging into my office. Otherwise, you might just catch me on top of your husband… riding him into ecstasy p>
Sofia’s eyes widened, red with fury. Her whole body shook as she clenched her fists. “Stay away from my husband!” she screeched before storming out, her heels clicking angrily against the floor.
The door slammed shut. Silence followed. Cassia let out a slow breath and sank into her chair. She didn’t have time for Sofia’s petty insecurities. If she was that terrified of Aiden straying, maybe she should chain him to his office.
Cassia shook her head, forcing Sofia from her thoughts. There were lives depending on her. She turned back to her work.
Meanwhile, Sofia stormed out of the hospital, her fury boiling over. People outside paused, eyes glued to their phones. Some whispered, others openly stared at her. She barely noticed, too consumed with rage.
She threw herself into her car, slamming the door shut. Her cheek still tingled from the slap. Amelia had dared to hit her. Her….the Luna of red moon pack. There would be consequences. There had to be.
Her phone buzzed in her lap, flooded with missed calls and messages. With a trembling hand, she unlocked it. One message caught her attention.
A video.
She tapped it and her blood ran cold.
On the screen was Aiden, standing before the press. His voice was steady, his words damning:
“Seven years ago, I stood here and accused my wife of murdering our daughter. I lied. Amelia didn’t kill Eva. I did wrong. I rejected her. I left her when she needed me most p>
The phone nearly slipped from Sofia’s hand. She froze, shaking as his words echoed in her head.

Her chest tightened. Fear clawed at her, but she forced a bitter laugh through trembling lips. No. She had been careful. She had covered her tracks. No one would ever trace it back to her.
Still… watching him apologize to Amelia, watching the world hear him defend her, it ignited something else. Rage. Pure, unrelenting rage.
“What is it about you, Amelia?” she whispered to herself, voice shaking. “What makes you so special p>
Her nails dug into her palm until her knuckles turned white. Tears burned her eyes as her jealousy twisted into something
darker.
She grabbed her phone again and dialed Dante’s number. He picked up almost instantly.
“I saw the news,” Dante said sharply. “I was about to call you p>
“Dante…” Sofia’s voice broke into a practiced sob. “He won’t find out, right? Tell me he won’t find out p>
“No. I made sure everything was clean. No one will ever trace it back to you,” Dante reassured. “Is that why you’re crying? You know I can’t stand it when you cry p>
“I’m not crying because of that.” Her tone sharpened, venom seeping through. “I fought with Amelia. She slapped me p>
There was a long pause on the line. Then Dante growled. “What? She laid her hands on you? Do you want me to end this tonight? I’ll burn her alive…with that son of hers. Just say yes”
“Yes.” Her lips curled into a smile. “Do it p>
“Then consider it done p>
The line went dead.
Sofia leaned back against her seat, wiping away her fake tears as a wicked smile spread across her face.
