Meanwhile, Aiden and James walked back into the mansion, arms loaded with shopping bags. The house was eerily silent….too silent.
Even the maids were nowhere in sight.
Aiden frowned. Strange. This house has never been this quiet. But before he could dwell on it, a shrill scream tore through the stillness.
Both men froze. Their eyes locked for a split second before they dropped the bags onto the dining table and bolted toward the kitchen.
The sight that greeted them stopped Aiden in his tracks.
Cassia was holding Sofia on the tiled floor, her fists slamming down again and again. Sofia’s screams echoed through the walls, desperate and helpless.
For a heartbeat, Aiden couldn’t move. His chest tightened. Cassia looking wild, furious, blazing with fire. It was chaos, it was violence, but gods, it was her. And he had never wanted her more.

Her body writhed against him, her fists still swinging in the air. Aiden tightened his arms around her, every muscle straining to keep her still. His wolf growled with the effort, torn between restraining her and savoring the feel of her against him.
“Cassia, stop!” His voice cracked with something deeper than command. Desperation.
But she wouldn’t. She fought like a angry wolf. And Aiden…. unable to stop her by strength alone, swept her onto his shoulder, his arms locking around her thighs.

“Stay still, or you’ll fall,” he warned, his tone low, ragged, as if every word cost him.
Her scent invaded his lungs, stirring memories he thought he’d buried. Every wiggle of her legs against his chest sent jolts of electricity surging through him. He clenched his jaw. Moon Goddess, she’ll drive me insane.
Cassia froze for a moment, breath catching. The familiar spark of their bond…once broken, yet never gone, slid down her spine. Her body went rigid, silent, though her fists remained clenched.

Meanwhile, back in the kitchen, Sofia lay sprawled on the floor, her lip bleeding, her hair a tangled mess. She whimpered as she tried to push herself up, only to collapse again.
