I am pulled from nothingness by a sharp stabbing pain in my chest. My eyes hurt and I blink furiously to clear my vision. I lift my head up and realize I am in Ayla’s bed. She lays next to me, legs crossed, but it’s like her front half toppled over. I see a faint whisp of white hair blowing in front of her face with each breath she takes so I know she is okay, which doesn’t help my confusion any. I turn my head to the left and see that Cyrus is asleep against the wall across the bedroom. I reach my hand out and trace my fingers up the blue see through wall that seems to be cocooning me.
“Cyrus.” Damn my throat is raspy. I have a new respect for little wolf. “Cyrus. Wake up.” “Huh what, get back here girl we ain’t finished.” he says sleepily. Ugh. I will have to power wash that wall if he is having a sex dream on it. “Cyrus, you dip shit wake up.” I say a little louder attempting to not wake little wolf. He bolts awake looking at me like he just won the lottery. “Holy shit, it worked. How do you feel?” “What worked? I have a damn headache. the movement but settles in nicely as I wrap my arms around her. I don’t know how we
left things really, but I know that she saved my life and that has to count as something. Hopefully more than a ‘hey now were equal‘ action. Hopefully, an acceptance of our bond.
