I awoke this morning in my nest and much to my surprise, I wasn’t alone. I had felt myself being pulled against Thane’s hard body late last night, and slept surprisingly well and was sure he would leave early for work, but instead I find him staring at me when I crack my eyes open. Those beautiful green eyes are full of so much depth that I have barely scratched the surface of. I want to know more about his upbringing and his family, but I also don’t want to push him into those emotions and memories as well. Nobody understands better than myself and that goes for Thane as well when it comes to me.
“Good morning beautiful.” he whispers with those panty melting dimples that I could just stare at all day long on display. He laughs when I blush and pulls me into him, kissing me on top of the head. “I see you were busy yesterday,” he gestures around us, and I raise my head off of his chest to take in the nest around us. My wolf and I were pretty proud of ourselves yesterday. I don’t really know why it is the way it is, but my instincts tell me that this nest I made is comfortable, structurally sound, and safe. As long as Thane is around, I know we are safe no matter what, but there is something instinctual about making your own safe nest that has my wolf preening with joy at accomplishing. However, I can also see how it would look like one big pillow/blanket fort.
“I am kind of embarrassed for you to be in it. Not that I don’t want you in it, but I’m not used to functioning as one with my wolf and having you in it makes me nervous.” “You have nothing to be embarrassed about little wolf. I sit up on my elbows and watch him as he lazily strokes his fingers up and down my arm and ribs. “I know that you want to go through with your heat and that you said you trust me, but we need to discuss the possibility of getting pregnant.” “Oh. Well, I haven’t really thought about it.” I tell him and it is the truth. I wasn’t able to sit around and dream of my perfect life and how many pups I wanted when I grew up. I didn’t have that luxury, but I do now, and I am not sure on the answer. “We haven’t discussed if you are ready or not for pups. I want you to
know that I am ready whenever you are. I fully support your decision if you want to wait, or don’t want to at all.

I smile at Thane when he says that. He always says that I am his world, and I can feel myself starting to believe it. To believe that I am worth something to someone. A belief I haven’t felt before. “I can’t say that I want them, and
I can’t say that I don’t. I would like to be a mother. I always have and since I am an omega, that is part of me. I trust you completely for my heat. I know you won’t hurt me. I don’t think I want to prevent having pups, but I am also okay if it doesn’t happen right away. I think I am saying that I don’t want to think about it. I just want whatever happens to happen. As long as I have you, they can come whenever, and I am okay with it p>
Thane gives me a smile that could rival the sun as he approves of my answer. He pulls me into him and starts kissing me slowly and lovingly. “I won’t hurt you little wolf. I would never hurt you and when your heat is here, I will remind you of that as much as I need to. I will take care of you, and I will do everything I can to keep you pain free. I know that having sex 24/7 for however many long days will be a tough job, but somebody has to do it.” he kisses me a few more times playfully before I pull back. “Well, it will be a tough job, but I could see if someone else can handle….” I don’t get to finish that sentence before he growls and flips us, so I am straddling him. “Don’t you dare finish that sentence or I will have to punish my naughty little omega. he sits up, taking me with him.
“What’s wrong?” I ask. I can feel rage and confusion through the bond before he clamps it down and tries to layer it with reassurance but fails. “I have to go to the pack house. Cyrus just mind–linked me and the warden as you call him is ready to talk. I recoil at hearing his name I gave to that monster. I can’t help the repulsion and fear that rises up just thinking about him. “I know baby. I know. After today, he’s gone. Forever. Do you want to be there? When I end him?” Thane asks and I never put any thought into it. Do I think I can handle seeing him again? No.
“I want to know that he is gone forever. I want to know that everyone he worked for is gone forever, but I don’t want to see him again Thane. I can’t.” I whisper trying to control the emotions that want to well up. “After today, he will never hurt you again. I swear it.” He kisses me and rises up to climb out of the nest, taking me with him. ‘I want you to stay here today. We may go to the library later and research your heritage, but until I find out who is responsible for trying to poison me, I don’t want you going anywhere alone. If you want to go into town, I can send someone to get you and stay with you, but It will be someone from my inner circle.” I nod in agreement, even though I think a guard is totally unnecessary. Whoever poisoned Thane is long gone and I wasn’t the target, but I will stay put to keep him peaceful. “You can go outside, wander the acers and plan whatever you want, but call me via mind–link if you start to have heat symptoms or need me in anyway. I will come for you, remember? I will always come for you. I will give you whatever you need.” “I know. I will always be here for you.” I say and kiss him as he starts to get ready, and I start to eyeball my nest again.
