Chapter 192
“Yeah, there’s a bag over on the couch. Not going to promise it isn’t soiled in some way.” Raven rolls her eyes while picking something off from behind her ear, making a face of utter disgust.
“ You get washed up then I want to hear ALL about it.” I wink at her; unable to believe I’m willingly suggesting to she–wolf talk about our heats, or what we remember of them. I mean, me talking openly about it in general is a lot, but I want the normal experience. I want friendship and what comes with it. That includes the she–wolf bonding. We clearly need practice at it.
The dark thoughts try to flare, and I can feel the anxiety trying to rise from my gut, tightening my throat, but I push it away and feel a pulse of reassurance through the bond and turn around to see Thane sitting upright, watching me and smiling, knowing he is handling my emotions when
need the help. Cyrus, however, uses it to his advantage and I just shake my head.
“I bet you are pretty tired after your heat. Get washed up and take the guest room you stayed in. You guys can stay here until it gets figured out.” 1 explained to her as we walked upstairs.
“No, they can’t. Do I need to remind everyone how Cyrus feels about wearing clothes in the house?” Thane yells from downstairs as we continue
1/3
“That Bitch “-Della in her grave…(probably)
“I’ll wear clothes here Thane. Pinky promise. Now get your fat ass off me.” I hear Cyrus grunt.
“You’re just as big as I am dumbass and if your junk comes out in front of your Luna again, I will cut it off. ”
“Will your jealousy ever end?” Oh Cyrus. He just can’t quit.
I don’t hear Thane’s response to Cyrus, but it sounds like more fighting, so I head to the guest room to make sure it is ready for them. It is far enough down from our room and my nest that their scents shouldn’t bother me.
I’m having more omega instincts, and one is clearly evident.
No outside scents in or around my nest.
I think it would send me feral. Aramana growls in my head just thinking about it. Nobody in this house is a threat to us, but the nest is ours. Only Thane’s scent can be intertwined within the nest. I think Aramana would kill any other shifters trying to get in.
A scary thought.
Sometimes I feel like I’m not in control.
I’m emotionally…. different than my wolf. She is more aggressive, and I am not. However, we are bonding. I spend time in conversations with her. She has a theory about my shield and keeping the pup safe, but I haven’t told Thane yet. I brought it up, but I feel that he won’t be able to handle the thought of it.
So, I will wait and hope that it never needs to happen.
The guest room is prepped and hopefully will remain intact during their stay. I sharp tug on my chest startles me. Thane usually doesn’t do that unless it is important, so I go downstairs to find ou
what is going
I see him and Cyrus having a silent conversation in the kitchen. At least they have abandoned their attack on each other, and Cyrus now has
shorts on.
“What’s going on?” I ask. They went from beating on each other to what I can presume is something pack/ring related rather quickly.
“Tyler’s team has been working on the connection of Kian and Della and if that ties to his brothers and or the ring.” Thane is standing against the counter with his arms folded over his chest. He’s tense, but I also sense trepidation in the bond. Probably because he has to talk about the
two shifters I don’t want to remember.
“Triad pack.” Cyrus reminds me. His arms are folded over his chest just like Thane’s.
“Yes, and them too. Anyway. Della’s parents never emptied her apartment. I’m not sure if they even went in it. They won’t talk to me about her, but they understand the reasoning behind what happened. I could push it, but I don’t get the feeling they know anything.” Thane sighs, probably thinking about the close relationship between his parents and her parents and how that it is essentially no more now.
“Okay…” I feel like I’m waiting for a big reveal of information that isn’t ever coming.
“Damon has access to the apartment now…he says it’s interesting.” Thane looks at me, worry present in his features.
“Interesting.” I repeat, confused.
“I don’t know what we are going to find.” Thane puts his head back against the counter, before pushing himself off the counter and heading to me, pulling me close and holding me tight.
“Do you want to come with us?” He whispers in my ear.
Do I?
