Checking Off Another First…

“What do you mean surprise date?” I look around and then down to what I am wearing. I’m in athletic pants because they stretch and a sweatshirt with a wide neck. My hair is on top of my head, and there is a spoon hanging out of my mouth because he caught me in the kitchen eating chocolate frosting as a meal.
Exactly what that means. You and I get into the car, and I take you somewhere that is a surprise.” Thane smiles, and then it grows larger when he sees my eyes slide over to his dimple and then the other.
Yeah, I’m in.
“I need to go change.” I throw my spoon in the sink and hand Thane my frosting container. He laughs, putting it in the refrigerator.
“No, you don’t need to change. What you have on will be perfect. I’m going to go change.” Thane kisses me on the cheek and heads upstairs. I’m confused. He is taking me on a date, but he’s changing and insists that I don’t.
I hope he doesn’t take me somewhere and I am completely underdressed. I’m the pack Luna. I’m not too sure I should be out, in public this Junderdressed. I don’t want to embarrass Thane either.
Thane returns wearing a tight tee shirt and gray flannel pants.

Thane walks up to me and uses his index finger under my chin to close my mouth as I drool all over myself. He laughs loudly, grabs me around the back of the thighs, and in one swoop lifts me off the ground. I straddle him with my legs as I squeal when he heads toward the door.
“I feel the same way when I look at you, Ayla.” He plants his lips against mine, giving me the butterflies I so love whenever he is affectionate with
“Are you going to carry me around like this?” I laugh as he heads to the car.
“I have to. Soon I won’t be able to. That pregnancy belly will be in the way….and I love thinking about it.” He slides me down the front of him and opens the car, door.
“Where are we going?” I ask nervously, wanting to know terribly. I’m discovering I do not like to wait for their surprises.
“Not telling Ayla p>
“Just give me a hint p>
“ Ok, it is a ‘first‘ that you said you wanted to tick off of your list p>
“That list is a mile wrong, that is not a hint, Thane p>
“Nope p>
I pout a little which causes Thane to lean over and take my bottom lip into his mouth, causing a mini make–out session in the driveway.
“Stop kissing me so I can have my surprise!” I laugh and sit up more in my seat, fully engaged and ready. Thane laughs and pulls out of the driveway, turning toward the town.
Checking Off Another First…
The drive consisted of me asking for more hints and Thane refusing all of them. It is a very good thing that he is extremely attractive because I really want to know.
“Alright, we’re here Little Wolf.” Thane parks the car and I look out the window, seeing a building with a giant sign on it. I’m excited and shocked that I didn’t guess it based on our attire.
“You are taking me to see a movie in the theater p>
“Yes, Ayla. She–wolf rom–com and all. Cyrus insists this one will have you laughing and crying. Don’t even ask p>
Thane gets out and opens the door for me and takes my hand, leading me into the theater. I have never been in one before. We didn’t have one at my old pack and if we did, I wouldn’t be able to go to it anyway.
The theater is huge and that is just the lobby. We bypass the snack bar which is kind of disappointing, but Thane laughs as we head down a dark hallway leading to a door. When Thane opens it, I’m shocked at the size of the room and the size of the screen.
It is massive.
“Look around all you want Little Wolf, but decide where you want to sit while you are doing it p>
“Well, I don’t know. How do you pick p>
“Too close to the front and we will have to crane our necks p>
Makes sense. How about the middle p>
“Good choice.
Thane leads us to the seats and I’m surprised how comfortable they are. I also didn’t realize that you could recline them back. I yelp with the feeling of falling backward and Thane smiles as he sits me back upright.
“Just wanted to show you that you can get as comfortable as you want. The feet come up too p>
“Where is everyone?” I look around, but we are the only ones here.
“I rented the whole theater out for you. This is our date, and I don’t like to share. Especially when we are ticking something off your list.” Thane explains and my heart warms with gratitude at his thoughtfulness.
I love him.
I hear the door open and staff members walk in. One is carrying an armful of blankets causing Aramana to shudder in anticipation of feeling them wrapped around us. There is also a staff carrying a large box.
They get closer and hand Thane the blanket pile which he passes to me and then he takes the box from the staff member. They bow their heads in respect and I smile and thank them. I pick out the softest rabbit fur blanket I can find and look over to find that Thane has a giant box of snacks and two huge containers of popcorn.
My eyes light up seeing all that chocolate.
Thane kisses me on the cheek and passes me a popcorn and drink.
“Thank you for this Thane p>
“Don’t thank me yet. We are watching a movie recommendation from Cyrus. If they all die in it, I’m going to kill him p>
I laugh and curl up with my blanket, leaning on Thane’s armrest to be closer as the movie starts on the large screen.
“I told them to skip the credits. This is the actual movie.” Thane informs me as I take a huge bite of popcorn and shove M&M’s in my mouth
around it.
“Now I am definitely going to try that, Little Wolf p>
Checking Off Another First…
I just tried it. It’s amazing.” I talk with my mouth full as I shovel more in. This popcorn is extra buttery and salty. There is heaven in my mouth. I’ve been missing out.
The movie is called Pretty She–Wolf. Soon, there is an older, salt and peppered Alpha with a broken down car meeting a beautiful she–wolf with hair like Ravens. Red with wild curls everywhere.
I look over at Thane, wondering if I could possibly fall in more in love with him. He turns to me and must see the adoration in my eyes. “I fall in love with you more and more each day Ayla.” I smile at him and lean over he arm, kissing him before sitting back in my seat.
“Here, try these.” He hands me a candy box as he whispers.
“Why are you whispering? We are the only one’s here.” I smile.
“Well, it is proper movie theater ettiquete. Plus my mother used to pull on our ears if we were loud during the movie p>
“I wish I could have met her, she sounds more wonderful every time you tell me a story p>
“She would have loved you. Now, enjoy your movie and share the M&M’s.” Thane tries reaching for them, but a little growl escapes me causing him to laugh hard.
“I swear I didn’t mean to do that.” I laugh.
“I will have more boxes delivered.” Thane pulls out his phone and sends a message and a few minutes later we have more candy for our popcorn.
Best evening ever.” I whisper and get comfortable, fully invested in watching this to the end.
