“Thane said they have Raven!” I yell from the couch.
“Yes! Is she okay? ” Amani slides into the living room, quite literally running fast in socks. She is graceful from her years of dancing.
“He said she is pretty injured from the accident, but they are bringing the shifters back that took her. It was the mate that rejected her and his brother!” I am giving Amani information as I get it, so I am in complete shock, jumping back on the couch dramatically as I say it.
I can’t believe it.
“Damon told me she was a rejected mate. I think when Alphas reject their mates, they become insane. I had a friend who danced with me, and she was there because her pack kicks you out if you get rejected. Anyway, I found her and started stalking her. Eventually, he abducted her and killed her. He could not handle that she moved on p>
“I don’t understand it. Thane is the greatest ever. I could not live without him…well, actually, he is the reason I am alive. These idiots have no idea what possibilities they are giving up when they instantly reject their mates.” I shake my head.
“I hope she cuts his dick off. I want to see him cry!” Amani laughs, and I shudder thinking about. Sonne’s shriveled–up hot dog.
“When Thane finds that out, he won’t be happy. He is starting to think that he is the only normal one in our group p>
“I heard that saying who my brother is will excuse any bad behavior I might exhibit.” Amani shrugs.
“Good point. Thane said they are taking Raven to the clinic. She has a lot of broken glass in her.” My wolf snarls in my head. She is quite attached to her guard, whose bloodlust she enjoys.
“We should make some food,” Amani suggests.
“Maybe we should check their bathroom, clean sheets, that type of thing? ” I ponder. “Actually, I think I am too scared to go into their
room p>
“So, food? ” Amani asks
“Yes.” I cringe. I would need to sanitize my eyeballs if I went in there.
A knock on the door pulls me from assisting Amani in the kitchen, “Luna.” A guard nods his head, and I reciprocate, still uncomfortable with the formality. “There are two pack members at the end of the drive attempting to gain entrance. Do you want me to turn them away?” The guard states, and my eyes widen in shock, as I’m surprised that anyone would visit me without following proper procedure. However, I also don’t want to be unfriendly, and there are quite a few guards here,

“That’s fine. I will see them.” I answer, and the guard nods at me again before turning and heading back to his post in front of the house.
Soon, I see a dark–colored SUV pulling up with two familiar faces.

“Hello Luna,” Rhonda says as she hops out of her son’s SUV.

“I’ll be back later to get her,” Larry says as his mom shuts the door and he turns out of the drive.
“What? Wait…wait.” I say. “Where is he going?” I gesture toward Larry’s SUV.
“Oh, I told him I will let him know when I am done,” Rhonda says, looking at me with a large smile on her face.
“Done with what?” I asked, confused and slightly terrified.
“I came here to speak with Amani p>
“How do you know she is here p>
“I was there when she got her new car, and she said she was driving it here because her mate had to leave. You all sure do buy a lot of
vehicles p>
“Well, yes. This is true. Well, please come in.” I gesture behind me, and Rhonda smiles as she opens my door.
Amani turns in time to see us enter. I quickly mouth ‘I am sorry‘ to her as Rhonda stands in the living area, sizing her up. “Hi,” Amani says, as she fake–smiles. She knows the Secret Keeper’s Club rules.
No Rhonda.
“Hello, I heard the paperwork girl talking after you left, and I wanted to talk to you about it p>
“Oh, okay. About what p>
“Let’s sit down and get away from sharp objects just in case,” I suggest, because I have no idea what could possibly come out of Rhonda’s
mouth.
We all sit in the living area with Amani on the couch next to Rhonda and me in the chair. “I heard you are a hooker,” Rhonda says as she gestures her hands toward Amani.

“You know, somebody who sells some strange for change,” Rhonda explains, and I fold my lips into my mouth, trying to hold back my
laugh.
“I am a dancer.” Amani clarifies with a slight scowl on her features.
“Oh, that is even better!” Rhonda claps her hands in front of her. Amani and I look at each other in confusion. “I have some girlfriends, and we started a club. The name is still up in the air. ‘Cooters‘ is leading. Anyway, it will be a studio with an instructor, but instead of
exercise, we have classes p>
“Classes,” I repeat.
“Yes. Cooter classes. You know dancing, seduction, positions, tips, and tricks. That kind of thing.” Rhonda nods, and Amani starts choking
on the water she was trying to take a drink of.
“You want Amani to instruct at Cooters for you?” I quickly seal my lips back into my mouth as my chest shakes with silent laughter.
“Yes. She is exactly what we need.” Rhonda wiggles her eyebrows up and down as Amani wipes tears off her face from choking on the
water.
“Well, that is…..something.” I clear my throat.
“Yes, it is,” Rhonda says.

It would be quite a while.” Amani says, scrambling for her answer. It actually isn’t a bad idea for Amani, minus the club name, if Amani is still interested in staying close to her line of work.
“That is exciting. Who are you mated to?” Rhonda asks, and I cringe right as ‘Damon‘ leaves Amani’s lips.
Rhonda’s eyes widen in surprise. “You’re Damon’s mate?” Rhonda says, hand on her chest.
“Yes….” Amani nods her head at Rhonda as she answers slowly.
“He is my favorite p>
“You’re favorite….what?” Amani asks Rhonda.
“My favorite eye candy.” Rhonda scoots back from Armani, and I can’t tell if she is sizing her up or checking her out.
Rhonda may not know either.

“Rhonda,” I gasp loudly.
“I don’t plan on it. Also, don’t threaten me, or my brother Cyrus will probably cut your titties off. ” Amani points at Rhonda’s chest.
“Oh, I helped raise him, I just love him. That mate of his…..meow.” Rhonda shakes her shoulders.
“The guys are almost to the clinic with Raven, we have to go.” I stand from the chair.
“Oh no! Raven’s hurt? We have to go.” Rhonda jumps up from the couch and heads for the door.
“I guess she is coming with us.” I point to Rhonda’s back as Amani shakes her head, grabbing her keys from the table.

“Did Cyrus give you his list of supplies he needs?” I ask Damon as we get Derk and Trevor shackled to the chairs. The power wash company is highly disturbed by our behavior, but surprisingly, gave me a punch card.
Odd.
“I did, but it might also be a shopping list for their new home. It has a cheese grater on it.” Damon answers, pulling the list out and
handing it to me.
We step back and admire the shackled idiots. By being too prideful and greedy, they disobeyed their father, creating a weakness within their pack and giving Cyrus and Raven just what they had been waiting for.
Truthfully, I assumed taking down Stevens and his sons would happen at the same time but spreading it out may work in our favor.
“I am going to assume torture list since it has meat hooks on it, but anything is possible. Get the stuff, bring it down here, let Cyrus decide.” I passed the list back to Damon. The two wayward sons remain unconscious from their beatings they sustained on the way home.
“ Thane, I need help. ” Little Wolf mind–links me. The statement should alarm me, but the bond seems fine, so it could have something to do with pickles at this point.
“ Rhonda showed up at the house unannounced, and now she is with us because she wants to see Raven p>
“ Raven is going into surgery. I will meet you in the dungeon parking lot p>
“I have to go up and rescue our mates from Rhonda, you better stay here.” I need to have a discussion with Ayla about sticking up for
herself more.
“You do not have to tell me twice. The last time Rhonda saw me, she licked me.” Damon shudders.
I climb the stairs and head through the doors. I cannot describe the relief I feel as I watch Ayla climb out of the car toward me. I knew logically that she would be fine, but in the back of my head, I was praying that this was not a distraction to obtain Little Wolf instead.
I think the fear of losing my family will always be simmering just underneath the surface. I cup her face and kiss her deeply.
The feeling of having my mate in my arms and inhaling her lavender scent is like coming home. “I was so scared, Thane,” Aylan whispers against my lips.
“I’m sorry, Little Wolf, I will apologize later.” I scent her arousal in the air as I do any time she hears the word ‘sorry p>
“Let me handle Rhonda, you take Amani and head down the stairs, only if you think you can; if not, head to the clinic. Cyrus is there

“If you think he is down there, torn up about whether Raven will be okay, you are wrong. He is more than likely going to bitch her out for holding up their murder time.” I kiss Ayla on the cheek as she gestures for Amani to follow her, as Amani is slowly side–stepping away
from Rhonda,
“Rhonda, showing up at my house unannounced is a poor idea.” I feel like I am scolding my grandmother. A feral grandmother.
“I needed to meet with Amani, I would have gone where she was, she just happened to be at your house, Alpha p>
“I will have somebody take you to Larry’s. Please do not come to my house unannounced again. I have a pregnant mate, and it is too
dangerous p>
“My apologies. I am just very excited about Cooter’s p>
“Nope, not going there. I am going to check on my mate. I will let Raven know that you stopped by p>
I turn and leave Rhonda standing silently behind me, sighing
as I will my brain to stop trying to figure out what she was talking about.
I do not need to know.
Nothing good will come from it.
I’m sure it is disgusting.
I head down the dungeon stairs to see Damon holding his mate and mine glaring at the two prisoners, one of which is staring at my mate.
I do not like it.
“He just woke up I gave him some drugs.” Damon informs me as I walk up next to Ayla, hoping this isn’t another Sonne situation. I will kill everybody I meet just to prevent her from enduring another face from her nightmares again.
“What is going on?” I look around Ayla whose eyes are flicker neon teal. “Do you know them p>
“I have no idea, but my wolf wants them dead.” Ayla wrestles with her wolf for control and it is apparently Ayla’s wolf fighting to make her place known.
“Get in line bitch.” Derek pants as he attempts to fight off the drugs Damon gave to him. Before I can punch him, Ayla’s partial shifts her fingers to claws and he launches forward, digging them into Derek’s head.
He screams in pain as I grab her around her hips. Ayla is snarling as she tries to rip the face off this scum. I pull her away as she growls

“Ayla, baby look at me….” I haul her up the stairs and it her down outside as she tries to bolt around me. “Calm down. You have to save them for Cyrus and Raven. I need to speak with them too. Please, breathe. Think of the pup.” I put her face to my neck as I bent down, hoping she will scent me and calm herself instead of tearing out my throat.
I push as much calm as I can down the bond. After several seconds, she breathes slower and no longer has claws. “Are you good? ” I ask as
she nods while holding her belly.
“Aramana has a special bond to Raven. She is extremely upset right now and honestly, so am I. At least we are functioning more
cohesively.” Ayla sighs.
“I think you and Amani should meet up with Cyrus. I will stay here.” I grab her hand and bring her down the stairs with me. “Damon, can you take the ladies to Cyrus and maybe on your shopping trip.” I mind–link him to keep them both away from the dungeons as long as
possible.
“Oh, maybe we can get something for our house?” Amani sounds excited and Damon passes her the list. She reads it in confusion. “That is a lot of mousetraps p>
“Don’t ask.” Damon answers.
“I will mind–link when I am done here.” I tell him, but a streak of white darts in front of me, feral for the shifters chained to chairs. I grab Ayla before she can claw out their eyeballs, picking her growling form up and heading toward the stairs.
“Do not let your Luna out of your sight.” I order him and he nods in agreement. “Do not let her buy anything if she mentions cutting a dick off with it either. ” I mind–link Damon as I carry a snarling, vengeful she–wolf to Amani’s car.

“I can’t take this anymore, I am ready to play. Wake up, Fireball. They had to sedate Raven because she was speed–healing too quickly around the glass in her wounds. She was healing faster than they could irrigate, and it seems to be another part of her stolen and created gifting. I had to threaten the lives of all involved, and I went into explicit detail about what would happen should they run their mouths.
They won’t have them.
“She will come out of sedation soon. Just keep talking to her, she will wake up. All of her vitals are stable, and she is bandaged. With how quickly she heals, she will more than likely be mark free by the end of the day.” Eric explains as I pace around the room, my fingers laced
over the top of my head.
“Maybe you should go clean up and then come back,” Eric suggested, seeing the dried blood coats my hands, arms and clothing.
“It would be pointless. I’ve got ball sacks to cut off p>
“All right. I will just leave you to your pacing then.” I swear Eric’s eyebrows are at his forehead in shock. Strange since he should know
me by now.
He leaves me to my pacing. I know the guys are on their way to get us some creative toys, but I’m done waiting. I feel rage simmering within me that needs an outlet, and I need my Fireball.
I need her.
I head over to the crash cart and start digging around until I find what I am looking for. I grab the nasal spray and shove it up Raven’s nostril, squeezing the bottle.
“About damn time. I’m tired of waiting for you. Come on, we have a playdate.” I tell my mate as she bolts up in her bed, awake but confused. I grab her head and smack my lips down on hers, aggressively pushing in the fear, frustration, and pain as I ravage her lips, trying not to relive the moment I saw her car on the bottom of the embankment.
I pull away as she pants and holds onto my arm. “Are they still here?” Raven asks, vulnerable but determined.
“Yes. Now get dressed so we can play, and then I’m going to play with your purr box p>
“Is that happening? Is purr box sticking?” Raven smiles as she climbs to the edge of the bed, inspecting her bandages and quickly ripp out her IV. The hose kinks and the pump alarms.
Eric walks into the clinic room, shaking his head when he sees Raven up and moving around. “Why does everyone rip their IVs out? Ju call us and we will remove them.” He sighs and pulls the pump out.

“The girls went with Damon to get our supplies, and we have to sneak out the window.” I grab her and pull her toward me, taking over
buttoning her pants because of how impatient I am growing.
But more from the overwhelming thoughts of how close I was to losing her and needing her to be as close as remotely possible to me.
“Why are we sneaking out the window?” Raven asks as I pry it open.
“Rhonda rode with the girls. She is refusing to leave because she placed you on her eye candy list. That is a list you do not want to be on. Ask Damon.” I explain as I climb through the window and grab my mate’s waist, pulling her out as well.
“Damn it, Rhonda,” Raven whispers. “Wait, where is Lenny p>
“Who is Lenny?” I ask as Raven raises her eyebrow at me, looking annoyed.
“That is not a strong enough name for him, and he is in your Luna’s boobs. Apparently, it is keeping her wolf in check. She tried to skin the face off Derek. Thane said he can sense that her wolf has a bond with you stronger than just you being her bodyguard. It may have something to do with you being gifted, but her wolf is pretty feral right now on your behalf. If she isn’t careful, I may get jealous p>
“Wow. I can’t picture a little, snow–white she–wolf that is very pregnant attempting to rip a face off. I’m really proud of her.” Raven holds her hands over her heart as if hearing that her Luna was murderous was equivalent to an I love you.
“Hop on my back and I will carry you.” I turn my back to Raven as she huffs and grabs my shoulders, spinning me back around. Her black eye and gash on her forehead caused my wolf to snarl.
“Carry me this way.” I hear as Raven jumps up into my arms. “And kiss me the whole way down.” I smile with my dimples before her lips
meet mine.
Wow, has my life changed! I knew she wouldn’t run from me forever, but that waiting period to claim her was a bitch.
Worth it.
Plus, all the torture of her enemies gives me something enjoyable to do.
The walk to the building concealing the dungeon beneath was long. Cars kept honking as they drove by. I lost count of how many times I pressed Raven into a building and ground myself against her. We are like lovers who were lost and found again.
I think I read that in Monica’s book somewhere.
That sappy stuff won’t work on my girl, though.

Raven laughs as I slide her down the front of me, kissing her again as we start the descent of the dungeon stairs. We walk into the room and find Thane punching Derek’s head repeatedly while Trevor groans, attempting to arouse next to him. They are both shackled in a
chair and bloody.

“Sorry, he was getting mouthy. Glad to have you back, Raven. Let’s not do that again.” Thane steps back from Derek, kicking Trevor’s leg as he passes, trying to wake him up. “Your supplies are headed this way. You two do whatever you want. I do not care what happens to
