Chapter 85
King Cyrus immediately let go of Killian’s throat, making the man fall to the ground.
Amelia sighed and walked to him.
“With due respect, I know you are angry, King Cyrus, because Alpha Killian has been opposing the rules set by the authorities, but this is not the right time for it.” Amelia stood before Killian, and it almost looked like she was shielding him.
Killian, on the other hand, still in pain, smiled inwardly.
He knew it. No matter how much she pretended to hate him, she could never do it. She loved him too much for it.
Cyrus looked into her eyes and saw her pleading expression, huffing loudly, and leaving the funeral room.
Amelia didn’t waste a second in running behind him.
The man walked to the forest to calm his raging anger toward Amelia because she had interrupted him, almost making it look like she still loved Killian.
“King Cyrus–” Amelia started.
“Leave, if you don’t want me to direct my anger at you,” Cyrus seethed.
He was here for her. He was here to seek justice for her. But she came around and made him look like the bad guy?
Amelia, however, didn’t give up.
Rather than leaving, she walked to him and held his hand.
The man was about to jerk his hand away, but who would’ve thought she would climb on his back like a baby, twist her legs so she could hug him from the front, and press her lips to his without warning?
“I don’t want those alphas to think my husband is a bad man by hurting that bastard when he is down. You want those votes during the King trials,” Amelia reasoned while kissing him.
Cyrus didn’t pull away from her kiss, his anger subsiding a little.
“Do you think I care about those votes?” He asked.
Amelia pulled away this time.
“I do. I want my husband to be the King because he deserves every single bit of it, and I don’t want a small moment with that bastard to lessen your chances.” Amelia didn’t flinch and looked him straight in the eyes.
“You might want to kick me out later, but I said I am going to protect you, and when I say that, I am going to do anything to protect your honor, whether you like it or not,” Amelia said.
Cyrus kept looking into her eyes for some time before he slammed her into the tree, pressing his lips on hers, harder this time.
It was hard for Amelia to breathe, but she felt she needed it, too, so she wrapped her legs around him tighter, not caring whether anyone would see them or if they were in the Sin Banned Pack.
Enraged at her provocation, Cyrus pushed his tongue inside her mouth, tasting her like her juice was the only elixir that could calm the beast inside him.
“I can’t understand why I can’t hate you no matter how much I try,” Cyrus growled at her before biting her lips.
Amelia winced at the pain as the man sucked the blood out of her lips and she groaned, breathing heavily.
Cyrus pulled away, licking her lips one last time to heal the wound on her lips.
“Have you fallen for me, King Cyrus?” Amelia blinked her eyes innocently.
The man said nothing, just slammed her harder against the tree.
“Don’t play with fire, Amelia,” he grunted.
The girl smirked.
“I am ready to burn in flames if that’s what it will take you to love me, King Cyrus. Haven’t you felt it yet? I am madly and hopelessly crazy for you,” Amelia claimed.
Cyrus put her down on the ground and glared at her, unable to retort to her words before he turned around and left the area, leaving her alone.
Amelia found it funny how the two men around her had similar habits.
They would slam her into the tree softly, exerting their dominance while ensuring she was safe and confronting the people who hurt her without a second thought about the future.
If she didn’t know any better, she would’ve thought they were brothers from different mothers.
The thought of having both the men at the same time, tying her on the ground and ravaging her recklessly, showing their true dominance, took over her, and her cheeks turned red.
She should have felt guilty for having such thoughts, but she couldn’t bring herself to do so.
The girl took a deep breath and wiped the side of her lips, removing the invisible drool she got from those nasty thoughts before walking towards the pack house.
Luna Jennifer, who saw everything unfold before her eyes as she had walked out of the area to get some fresh air because she wasn’t feeling well, stood frozen in her place.
Amelia dared to jump over King Cyrus and hug him, and rather than hate her like the man hated every other woman, he responded by kissing the hell out of her.
Were King Cyrus and Amelia a thing?
Her pupils dilated at the thought, and she gulped.
She didn’t know Amelia had this kind of backup. But why didn’t she ever mention it to others? Was this just an affair that they were hiding from others?
That seemed more like it. Or why would King Cyrus go around with a healer when everyone knows how much he hates them?
Luna Jennifer walked back inside the Sin Banned Pack’s temporary pack house, focusing on King Cyrus and Amelia.
King Cyrus just stood there, unapologetic, and Amelia sighed.
She looked at Branson and Ethan with narrowed gazes.
As the council, shouldn’t they be doing something to resolve the matter?
Brandon cleared his throat as if her gaze reminded them of their duties.
“We will look into what happened, King Cyrus. You don’t need to take matters into your own hands. Alpha Killian will pay for the damages, but after this period is over. We assure you,” Brandon said.
On the other hand, Ethan looked at the girl who seemed timid but had come inside earlier like a true queen, controlling her King to prevent everyone from having problems.
Though she was a healer and didn’t have a wolf, she was surely suited to be the queen.
He hoped that once the King trials were over, if King Cyrus became king, she would win the Queen trials because no one had controlled his wrath like she did.
“I am deeply sorry for everything, including Amelia’s earlier misunderstanding. Please be the bigger person and forgive me,” Killian said, bowing to Amelia out of respect.
Amelia looked at the man. Saving him from dying by her husband’s hands was one thing, and forgiving him was another.
“I don’t want to be the bigger person. Just because I saved you now doesn’t mean I am on your side. And don’t think that I am here to support you. I am here to know the truth since you easily claimed I have the wrong work ethic. How did your mother die?” Amelia asked.
Brandon cleared his throat.
“Miss Amelia, it might not be in the best interest to discuss that–” Brandon started, but stopped talking when Amelia and Cyrus looked at him simultaneously.
He felt pressured under the dominant and mocking glares.
“You weren’t the one choked, humiliated before the alphas, your professor, and questioned for your work ethics that you proved time after time. So with due respect, Mr Brandon she let the sentence hang.
However, her silence was loud and clear.
She was here for justice and wouldn’t let anyone come between that.
Alpha Killian sighed.
Hannah arrived in time, saw everyone standing like something big had happened, and walked to Amelia.
“What’s going on, Amelia?” She asked, blinking innocently.
Amelia smiled.
“Nothing, sister Hannah. I am just asking Alpha Killian how his mother died,” Amelia repeated.
“Someone killed her. Her throat was cut, leaving her to bleed till death.” Killian’s words echoed in the silent hall.
Amelia nodded.
“Condolences,” she stated before turning to leave.
However, as she was about to leave, she stopped.
“King Cyrus, we have to talk about your treatment,” she said, and the man understood the hidden meaning behind her words.
Without as much as a greeting to the alphas, he turned and followed her out.
His entire team glared at Alpha Killian as if he had sinned by breathing, leaving one by one.
“That was something. I didn’t know Amelia was treating King Cyrus, which was why she held that kind of power,” Aaron said.
Ethan, who knew the truth, sighed, his gaze shifting to Hannah. Looking at her face disgusted him, and Hannah could feel it as the man deliberately bumped into her before leaving.
