Chapter 122

~ NYSSA

I could not sleep.

Every time I closed my eyes I felt his hands on me, I heard the sounds he made. I lay in the bed, my eyes fixed on the ceiling above. The only thing that gave me any sense of reprieve was imagining all the things I would do to him once I managed to get out of here.

It was bad enough that he kidnapped me, bad enough that he made my living hell but what he did… the way he… I squeezed my eyes shut, blinking away the thoughts.

I was unsure of how long I had been awake, or of how many hours had since he brought me breakfast and kissed my forehead, letting his hands linger on my shoulder with intention but I waited.

I’d won his trust, and it would be his downfall.

The lock turned and I sat up immediately.

A stab of fear went through my chest, unease wrapping around me like a chain as I shuffled closer to the wall. I watched as he made his way down the stairs dressed in a plain black shirt and loose pants. He smiled widely at me before holding out his hand.

“Are you ready for the movie p>

I forced a smile on my face and nodded, letting my hand slip effortlessly into his. He grinned wider, thumb tracing over the back of my palms affectionately. I forced myself not to shiver and allowed him lead me up the stairs and through that white door.

A shuddered breath left me as I stepped into the white room, towards the wooden door that separated me from the rest of the world.

“I’m trusting you with this,” he warned as he slid his keys into the lock. “You’re not going to try anything stupid, are you p>

I shook my head. “I want to watch a movie and eat chips… that’s all p>

Somehow, that convinced him.

He pushed the door open and I frowned as we stepped out into a laundry room.

I had ample time to imagine where we were and not once did I think that Henry would be foolish enough to bring me to his house. I’d been here so many times that I knew the layout like the back of my hands.

The halls were the same, the decorations were the same, but as we stepped into the living room, I realized what was different. He had removed all the vases, and the large sword that hung as a mantle just below the television.

I knew if I went into the kitchen, he would have removed the knives.

“I trust you, Nyssa,” he whispered, lips brushing the shell of my ears. “But I just have to be careful p>

He kissed me there and I pulled away from him, hands rubbing nervously on my skin.

I had to regroup… strategize.

“I need water,” I mumbled, heading straight for the kitchen.

Sure enough, there were no knives, no forks, hell, even the plates were gone. I checked everywhere, the cupboards, the cabinets… there was nothing. All I saw were rows of cups and mugs.

Panic bubbled inside of my chest, my breaths coming out in heavy pants.

“Are you alright?” Henry asked, making his way over to me.

I forced a nod. “I’ll be fine, I just need a moment p>

I thought he would leave, but to my surprise, he took a step closer. “I can help you relax p>

I threw up in my mouth at those words. “No, I’m okay. Thank you though p>

I tried to side step him but he grabbed my arm and pulled me back. With his hands on my hips he pinned me against the counter, my back pressed up against his front.

I felt his erection digging into my ass.

“I think we should go watch that movie now,” I said quickly, trying to shove him off, but he wouldn’t budge.

“Actually, I have other plans for us. I have a bed or we could take a couch. I think it’s time we make it… official. I’ve never been with you in this way p>

I tried to wriggle out of his grip. “You wanted to wait till the ceremony. I think we should do that p>

He sighed against my skin. “I already told you, Nyssa, I have to mate with Alisa, but you will always have my heart p>

The gall of the bastard!

Even now, he could not make a choice. He did not care about me, all that mattered was that rowan did not have me.

Before I could speak, I heard his belt buckle clang as he fumbled with it.

I pushed back against him, trying to dislodge him from me. “Henry, stop! I don’t want to do this p>

“I know you’re scared,” he murmured. “I’ll take good care of you p>

He reached for the waistband of my shorts and I panicked. My eyes roamed the kitchen, desperately searching for something… anything.

As he tugged down my shorts, my eyes landed on a particularly large ceramic mug. I reached for it, barely managing to grab it and with all my might, I swung.

It hit him square in the temple and shattered on impact, shards flying in every direction, even nicking me in the arm.

“You bitch!” he hissed, blood dripping down his head. “I fucking knew you were playing me! I’m going to fucking kill you p>

His eyes burned with anger, his chest heaving. I saw pure, unadulterated rage in his eyes and I knew then that if I didn’t get out now, I never would.

He advanced on me and I stepped back, bracing my hand on the counter when I felt something sharp… a piece of the mug.

My hand wrapped tighter around it tightly as I stared at Henry and his menacing figure as he approached.

“Help me, goddess,” I murmured under my breath and with a scream of rage, I rushed at him.

His momentary shock was all I needed to swing my hands over and over again at him.

He screamed, trying to push me off, but I aimed everywhere, at his eyes, his throat, his chest; I did not spare any part of him.

He went flying to the ground, trying to shove me off but I remained straddling his lap, sending the shard into his skin with all the strength I could muster.

“Fuck you!” I screamed.

Gargled sounds filled the air, and the sound of flesh squelching was sickening, but all it did was spur me on.

My hands were bloody from how hard I gripped it but I did not care. I kept stabbing until my arms hurt and the piece slipped from my fingers, clattering onto the tiled floor.
