Autumn reached out to take the glass from her, but Selena dodged it.
“Autumn, let me drink. I really can’t take it anymore. I just want to run over there and tear those two apart.

The more she talked, the more heartbroken she became.

Autumn reached out to comfort her, her own eyes misting over. “I get how you feel. But Selena, you’re lucky— you have a family who loves you.

“Why don’t you come work with me? Let’s build something amazing together. Who needs men? We’ll get rich ourselves p>
Thinking back on her own past, Autumn felt a deep sadness, but none of it mattered anymore.

Selena squinted, tipped her head back for another drink, then slumped over the table, mumbling, “Sure… let’s get rich together p>

Autumn called a server to watch over Selena while she got up to use the restroom.

He arrived in less than ten minutes.
When he walked in and saw Selena passed out at the table, he glanced at the empty bottles scattered around.
A flash of pain crossed his eyes as he looked at Autumn and asked, “What happened to her? Why did she drink so much p>
He remembered his sister could usually hold her liquor pretty well.
She wasn’t the type to black out easily.
Something must have happened to upset her enough to drown herself in alcohol here.
