“Can’t you understand plain English? Or should I get a translator?
“You two are so desperate to polish Julian’s image-you really are his loyal dogs!
“If you lay another hand on me, I’ll call security and tell them you’re trying to abduct a woman p>
Ryan was speechless.
Being suddenly shoved away, Ryan stared in disbelief, stunned by the things Autumn had just said.
The people nearby paused their conversations and began turning to look in their direction.
Autumn didn’t bother explaining.
She straightened her gown and walked toward the restroom.
Ethan had just entered the hall and was immediately surrounded by a group of people.
They treated him with respect and quickly struck up lively conversation.
Amid the chatter, Ethan looked around for her.
When he didn’t spot her, he lowered his head and reached for his phone.
Before he could call, a commotion by the entrance caught his attention.
He looked up and saw Autumn’s figure heading toward the restroom.
He wanted to follow but worried it might cause a scene or lead to misunderstanding.
Instead, he lowered his head again and dialed her number.
The call connected quickly, and Autumn’s tired voice came through.
“Ethan, I’m really sorry. Something just happened over here. I’ll be right out after using the restroom p>
She hadn’t expected to run into them here, or to be mistaken for causing trouble again.
It seemed like the moment she got within a hundred feet of Julian, everyone assumed she was here to start drama without fail.
She was honestly sick of it.
Ethan glanced toward the entrance. “I saw you. What happened over there? Are you alright p>
Autumn shook her head. “I’m fine. Sorry for worrying you. I’ll be out soon p>
She’d been dragged around by those two like a fool and needed a moment to fix herself up.

After all, she was still attending a formal banquet.
She had to at least look the part.
Ethan kept the phone to his ear as he walked toward the entrance. “Alright. I’ll wait for you nearby p>
After hanging up, Ethan looked up just in time to see Luna walking over arm-in-arm with Julian.
He let out a mocking laugh.
So, this was the kind of man Julian was-telling his friends to get rid of the wife while he paraded his mistress in public.
That said a lot about his character.
And this was the man who wanted to work with him?
Ethan figured it might be worth reconsidering the whole partnership.
Luna greeted him with a bright smile. “Mr. Sharp, we meet again p>
Ethan returned a polite smile in response, then looked at them and asked, “Mr. Carter, are you two in a relationship p>
Julian neither confirmed nor denied it.
Luna’s gaze dropped slightly, and she didn’t give a direct answer either.
When Autumn came out of the restroom, this was exactly what she saw.
So, they were already publicly acknowledging their relationship?
Then what did that make her?
Only the old version of herself would have naively believed that if she treated him well enough, Julian would
come back to her.
But now, that belief felt like nothing more than a joke. Just another lie she told herself.
She actually looked forward to seeing their expressions-what would they look like when they saw her standing beside Ethan?
She let out a bitter smile and started walking toward them, ready to greet Ethan.
