Chapter 172

For once, the chaos within the Blue Moon pack wasn’t my doing.
It was apparently the cause of a mysterious male witch out there who helped the Hunters make a device to decipher the pack’s location.
When I got that information out of one of the Hunters in the presence of Elder Gita and Phoebe, my instincts told me that something was wrong.
Why would a witch ally themselves with hunters? Everyone knows witches have been the most hunted supernatural beings throughout history.
With this troubling revelation at the back of my head, I stayed on high alert, watching out for the possible presence of the witch while helping Phoebe.
I had made myself her guard dog, following her around the estate and stopping her from doing anything impulsive.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to stop her now as she ran away from the alleyway that we’d both hidden in and sprinted into the smoke.
“Bloody hell.” I cursed, rubbing my forehead with my fingers.
Is this how stupid ’love’ could make someone?
We had a plan and were supposed to follow through with it to the end while helping Kaene from the shadows.
Not run headfirst into a smoke cloud made up of wolfsbane!
“Not to mention the fact that Kaene could’ve just gotten himself killed by the Hunters,” I mumbled, my mind racing with thoughts. “The pack would’ve fallen and the Alpha, dead. Then I’d have Phoebe to myself as my plaything until I get bored and dump her p>
There was just something excitingly different about fucking Phoebe compared to fucking other women.
When I fucked that maid… It was merely a temporary fix. It was like eating fish in the absence of a spicy hot steak.
No pun intended p>
I’d give anything to fuck Phoebe again.
But I couldn’t achieve that if she ended up dead now, could I?
Grunting to myself, I walked toward the smoke where hunters were already gathering and shouting orders to capture the Luna and Alpha.
“We have both leaders of the pack cornered.” One of them said excitedly.
“Should we kill them p>
“Nah, it’ll be best to capture. We’ll finally be able to get more insight into how these beasts work p>
Ugh, couldn’t they capture only Kaene instead?
I stretched out my hands, my fingers crackling with magic as I prepared a spell.
“Wait, who’s that?” One of the Hunters finally noticed me approaching and pointed at me.
Soon, the others saw me as well and pointed their weapons at me.
From the ones who stood on top of buildings to the ones on the ground, they all had their attention on me.
I also spotted several of them on buildings far away from the scene, causing me to snigger at how they thought they were ’sneaky p>
“It’s another wolf!” A Hunter exclaimed.
“Wait, isn’t that the Beta p>
“Yes! I think his name is… Negan. The mutt is also a successful businessman who’s been hiding among us humans.” A female Hunter said with spite.
Hmm… Not the normal reaction I got from females.
I tilted my head, fixing my gaze on her before waving my right hand at her.
Suddenly, her gun shook violently in her hands, causing her eyes to dim with confusion.
“I’m no petty ’wolf’, you hairless apes!” I snarled before snapping my fingers.
That activated the spell, causing her gun to explode from the inside out.
“Ahhhh!” The female Hunter screamed as the explosion took her hands, leaving behind two bloody stumps that ended at her elbows.
Her face was also scarred, her blood spraying everywhere like rain, causing a satisfied smirk to curl up my lips.
“He’s… He’s a–” Before one of the hunters could guess what I was, I rushed to him, using my bare hand to swipe at his neck.
The force caused his head to fly cleanly off his neck, the blood smearing my face and causing my smirk to turn into a grin.
A blood bath would definitely ease the tension I felt after holding Phoebe in that dark alleyway and being unable to fuck her.
“Kill him! Kill the freak!” A male Hunter with a deep voice commanded, causing all the Hunters to focus on me.
The ones who were hidden far away from the scene began coming out of their hiding spot and shooting their weapons at me.
Excellent.
I sped through the hunters, bringing out my claws and using them to tear through flesh and rip out organs, the blood spraying on my body only heightening the high I got.
I got to the Hunter who gave the command, watching his eyebrows furrow as he threw away the rifle in his hands and drew out a pistol.
However, I hit the pistol away with a simple swipe of my right hand before grabbing his neck and raising him off the floor.
“Typical humans.” I scoffed coldly, increasing the pressure on his neck and causing him to gasp for breath.
I didn’t waste any time, pulling at his head until I successfully tore it off his body, flinging it at a Hunter who was about to stab me with a silver dagger.
The poor champ screamed in terror, giving me the chance to drive my right arm through his chest, pulling out his heart.
“All hunter units, head here now!” One of them yelled into a communication device before pointing a gun at me.
I rolled my eyes, wiggling my fingers and using telekinesis to shift the position of the gun, causing him to accidentally shoot right through his left eye when he pulled the trigger.
At this rate, I would be able to kill all the Hunters.
But it would be too much of a burden and I didn’t want to show my true strength anyway.
I squinted my eyes, finally making my way through the smoke where I spotted Kaene and Phoebe holding each other and laying low like cowardly puppies.
“Negan Phoebe muttered, a smile stretching across her face.
Yeah, there was no time to get touchy-feely.
I was part werewolf… Meaning that half of me was getting poisoned by the surrounding wolfsbane, though at a slower rate than a pure werewolf.
It was still too much of a risk.
“The Hunters are finally gathering to finish me off,” I said with a wry smile. “Come on. Just a few more meters to the strike zone Elder Gita marked p>
With that, I stretched out my hands and helped them up, ignoring the urge to do an uno reverse and just attack Kaene here.
