“Look at this! ” Dominic finally snapped and sprang to his feet, ready to shove her out.
Jessica froze, her mouth hanging open wide enough to fit an egg.
“ Go. Go. Go!” Dominic’s face flushed as he pushed her outside.
Jessica stood there, stunned, for a full minute before she finally turned and went back to the guest room, lost in thought.
She lay on the bed, her expression tangled with conflicting emotions–shyness, fear, and a flicker of expectation.
For the time being, Dominic had no choice but to let Jessica stay. He needed to make sure the divorce went through smoothly.
Yet the situation felt strangely reversed.
He stayed on constant guard around her. The young woman was a little unhinged and disturbingly bold. She never backed down.
Days slipped by.
At the company, Dominic gradually found his footing. He was no longer limited to telemarketing and began accompanying Abigail on sales calls. Only then did he truly understand how brutal sales work could be.
Rain or shine, there were no days off. Skipped meals in order to meet clients were routine.
Worse still, convincing people to buy the product meant swallowing endless cold looks. One encounter etched itself into his memory when someone pointed at them and ordered them to leave.
Dominic nearly lost his temper, but Abigail quickly tugged him along and told him to endure it.
This was the reality of sales.
It was Dominic’s first job, and it left a lasting mark. Even if he became successful someday, he knew he would never forget this
stretch of his life.
Still, after half a month, he had yet to see the mysterious Miss Wright, Autumn’s aunt.
He continued to get off work at four every day, then went to Riverside Residence to pick up Lilith.
Isabella always tried to cling to him at that hour, but his response never changed.
Sometimes, the girl wanted to go back home. Other times, she stayed with Katherine. Notably, she never mentioned Jessica’s presence in the house to anyone.
Apparently, her relationship with Jessica had improved somewhat. Dominic occasionally caught them huddled together, whispering. He had no idea what secrets they shared.
As for Autumn, he had not seen her at all during this period.
She messaged Dominic daily on WhatsApp, explaining that she had gone out of town to handle some business.

After picking up Lilith from Riverside Residence, he headed straight home, unaware that a car behind him carried two pairs of watchful eyes.
“Sir, follow that car!” Mary said quickly.
The driver nodded and tailed Dominic’s old Audi.

Alexander and Mary watched closely. Once Dominic stepped into the elevator, they hurried out to investigate.
