He pointed at a figure dozens of miles away.
As the dying star dimmed, the harsh light faded. Space returned to normal visibility. They could clearly see someone collecting Godfall Fragments at full speed.
Lucas and Bruce turned to look.
“It’s him,” Bruce said. He watched Joanna’s streams often. Nighthowl was the first humanoid companion to ever appear.
Sometimes, Bruce felt jealous. Nighthowl got to eat real, natural food with Joanna.
If they had agreed to join her food streams back then, maybe they wouldn’t have spent the last six months barely eating anything decent.
Thinking about it now, the best meal they’d had recently was the day they kicked Joanna out of the team. Lucas had spent 20,000 Starcoins on a cafeteria feast that day.
Bruce recognized Nighthowl instantly.
