Grace’s disdain only deepened.

Bonnie had a point. Divorced women had zero value; even if they threw themselves at someone, nobody wanted them.
Just then, a voice called out politely, “Excuse me, miss, may I get by p>
Grace immediately stepped aside.
An elderly man in a yellow safety vest stooped to pick up the trash at her feet with
a pair of tongs. Once finished, he shuffled away without so much as a glance.
Grace didn’t even catch a good look at his face.
But Bonnie watched the man’s retreating figure, then burst out laughing.
“What’s so funny, Bonnie?” Grace shot her a puzzled look. “Don’t tell me you know that janitor p>
At Grace’s question, Fortune turned to glance at Bonnie, her expression unreadable.
Bonnie was quick to distance herself, as if just the thought of being associated with someone like Fortune was beneath her. “Know him? Please! I wouldn’t be caught dead with someone like that. We’re not even in the same stratosphere p>
The last flicker of hope faded from Fortune’s eyes.
She should have known better than to expect anything from ingrates.

“That’s Caitlin’s grandpa,” Bonnie replied, grinning. “Now I finally get how Caitlin managed to get a pass into Willow Manor p>
All this time, she thought Caitlin had actually bought a house here.
Turns out, it was all because she had a janitor for a grandpa!

What a joke. Picking a fight with the granddaughter of a janitor? That would only drag her down.
Caitlin only remembered the gift Gordon had given her last night when she got home.
She wasn’t exactly an expert on luxury goods-her usual handbags were spontaneous grabs from the nearest store-but even she was taken aback when Gordon gifted her ten designer bags at once. Judging by the packaging alone, these weren’t cheap.
There was a special cabinet for bags in the walk-in closet upstairs, so Caitlin lugged everything to the third-floor bedroom and carefully arranged the bags inside.
Once she finished, she noticed something else at the bottom-a luxury lipstick

Just then, the doorbell chimed.
