“We are reopening the investigation into the car accident from twenty years ago. We will bring the perpetrators to justice, and we’ll keep you and your family informed of any developments p>
Hearing this, the other officers in the room were speechless. Especially Officer Farrar, the one who had just dismissed Caitlin’s theory. None of them could believe that a young woman had pieced together the entire twisted truth from a few simple clues.

Meanwhile, Marcia was on a plane to Verdant Grove. The flight was two and a half hours long. She was going to visit her son, who still lived in her hometown. But since she was flying as her sister she had to visit him as his aunt.
Her son, Baber, was thirty now, married with two children of his own Marcia had brought gifts for him, his wife, and her two grandchildren. Years ago, she had used the money from Amanda to buy them a large villa.
As she stepped off the plane, she saw him waiting.
“Baber!” she called, waving excitedly.
“Auntie,” Baber smiled back.
Hearing him call her “Auntie” made Marcia’s eyes well up. More than anything, she longed to hear him call her “Mom” just once before she died.

She could only watch her own son from a distance, unable to claim him.

Lillian Bloom was Baber’s wife.
“Bill and Nancy are at school today. Lillian went to the restroom; she’ll be right back,” he replied.
