Chapter 146
“What is your plan?” The man sitting in the passenger seat with Elara asked.
“Just wait and watch,” Elara said with a smirk before her gaze locked on her target.
Elara wore the mask she always kept in her dashboard before she started the car, immediately accelerating to fifth gear.
She followed the car at an insane speed. From the way the car was moving, it wasn’t hard for her to guess the driver had already found out they were following them.
“Keep the gun ready. It will come in handy,” Elara said.
The man narrowed his brows but didn’t ask many questions and drew his gun, unsure what had gotten into Elara.
Weren’t they going to attend the dinner with her grandfather?
Elara turned the wheel, taking a sharp turn before she skidded the car right before the car they were following, before grabbing the gun from the man’s hand.
She got out of the car, her dark eyes being the only thing visible to the driver of the other vehicle.
“Hey! What the hell is your problem? Do you have any idea whose car it is?” The driver said, overconfidence dripping from his tone, and Elara smirked behind the mask.
She pointed the gun at the driver.
The man’s pupils dilated as he looked at the woman, his hands trembling.
His gun was obviously in the dashboard, and by the time he would bring it out, things would go out of hand.
“Hands behind your back,” Elara said.
The man raised his hand in surrender before doing as he was told.
The man from the passenger seat put on his mask and walked out, looking at Elara.
“Get her,” Elara said, and the man finally understood what was going on.
To say he was surprised would be an understatement. After all, Elara never acted on impulse before.
The woman in the back seat of the car, who wasn’t even bothered about why the car stopped and was busy chatting, gossiping, and flaunting to her friends, looked up when her door was yanked open.
“What the—” the woman started, but it was too late.
The man grabbed her hand and pulled her out forcefully before turning her around forcefully.
He hit the area behind her ears, the sensitive point, hard enough to render her unconscious before he grabbed the woman and pushed her into their car.
The man nodded at Elara, and she looked at the driver with a dazzling smile.
“She will be returned without a scratch on her body by midnight,” Elara said to the driver before she turned to her car, sat in the driver’s seat, and drove away, leaving the driver shocked and unsure of exactly what had happened.
It was clear the miss was kidnapped, but why would the kidnappers go through all this struggle if they wanted to return her unscathed? What was the purpose?
If they wanted something from their boss, why would they assure him, a mere driver, that she wouldn’t be harmed, knowing he would report it?
Was this some kind of prank? He wondered.
At the same time, Elara looked at the unconscious body of the girl in her back seat and looked at the man who was about to remove his mask.
“Don’t remove it,” She said.
The last thing she wanted was the girl to gain consciousness and recognise them.
Antonio paused in his actions and asked Elara where they were going.
Elara didn’t answer him. Instead, she just smiled before turning the car in another direction.
Antonio knew there was no point in asking her repetitively if she didn’t want to tell him.
His brows furrowed when he saw the adventure park in the remote area.
His gaze flickered to the clock on the car’s dashboard. It was 7:10 pm.
It meant the adventure park was already closed for the visitors.
Why were they going here?
Elara got out of the car after parking it at the entrance.
Antonio noticed how a man was already waiting for her at the entrance.
“Miss Elara,” the man said.
“Is everything ready?” She asked.
When the man nodded, she bobbed her head up and down. Soon, four men, all dressed in uniforms, probably the staff of the adventure park, walked to the car.
They pulled the unconscious girl out of the car.
“Shall we?” The man asked, and Elara nodded before she took the black cloth from his hand and put it over the girl’s face, then removed her mask so she could breathe properly.
“Miss Elara, what is going on?” Antonio asked, still unsure.
Elara pointed to the large roller coaster.
“For some reason, the thought that I should let go of my tormentors and keep a polite facade just for the paparazzi didn’t settle well with me, and that’s why I am here to teach her a lesson,” Elara said without hesitation once the girl was already taken inside the adventure park.
Antonio’s brows arched.
“You mean—?” He let the sentence trail off, and Elara nodded.
She was well aware that one thing Carla despised most was the ambiguity of the situation, and this darkness would give her a nice dose of it.
Since she was so happy pushing her so hard from the stairs and orchestrating a kidnapping, she wanted to see how well she herself would bear it.
With a menacing chuckle, Elara walked inside Adventure Island.
Antonio noticed how the guards had already tied Carla to the front seat of the roller coaster ride.
Elara walked to where Carla was.
She nodded at one of the men standing with a jug of water in his hand, and he immediately splashed water on Carla’s face through the black cloth.
The sudden splash of water jolted the girl awake, and she gasped when she couldn’t breathe properly.
She tried to move her hands, but when she couldn’t, she gasped even more.
“What the hell is going on? Where am I?” The memories of what had happened before she lost her consciousness rushed to Carla’s head, and she tried to break herself free.
“Who are you guys?! What do you want from me?! Do you know who I am?” Carla shrieked, fear settling in her bones as the black cloth made it hard for her to see anything.
Elara nodded at the second man, and he cleared his throat before smiling at Elara apologetically.
“You love messing with people just because you have money and power around here, don’t you? Let’s see how you’ll handle this,” the man said.
Carla froze for a second at the unfamiliar voice. No matter how hard she tried to think, she couldn’t recognize the voice from anywhere.
“Who are you? Who has asked you to do it? Look, if it’s about money, I can pay you ten times more than what that person has offered you.” Carla tried to negotiate her luck, but all she got in return was a cruel, merciless laugh.
“Who am I? Well, let’s just say I am a fan of Miss Elara, and I saw what you did to her at the shoot today. You like pushing people around, don’t you?” The man asked.
Carla swallowed hard.
It was bullshit. How could Elara already have fans?
“That’s not true. I am sure Elara asked you to do this. What is it? How much did she offer you?” Carla asked.
The man didn’t answer.
“The amount you will never be able to double,” he said before he walked to the operating section.
Without any other word, he pulled down the lever of the roller coaster and put it to the maximum speed. The generator’s start-up echoed, and Carla’s heart began to race.
“What the hell is going on? What are you doing?” Carla asked.
“Just letting you enjoy it,” The man said, and before Carla could say anything, the roller coaster started moving.
The fact that she couldn’t see anything made it even worse.
“Stop it! I said, “Stop it!” Carla shouted at the top of her lungs as she started going up slowly, the way her body tilted backwards, making her heart thump loudly against her chest.
“Is this really alright, given how you don’t want to kill her? What if she gets a heart attack?” Antonio asked.
Elara looked at the girl who was trying her best to yank herself free, a chuckle leaving her mouth when she saw little water droplets falling from the seat.
The guys around her looked away when they noticed the girl had peed in her dress because of fear.
“Don’t worry. People like those who love to bully others have a strong heart. And honestly, call me mean and a bitch, but I don’t really give two damn if she dies of a heart attack. You might not know it, but I was never a good person. Shedding blood has been in my veins,” Elara said.
She leaned back on the bench as she heard Carla’s unhinged screams as the roller coaster went down at full speed.
This was just the beginning of the entire nightmare Carla was going to live this evening for pushing her from those stairs.
Every time she would pass through the fear, the men here would ensure she was jolted awake through any means. After all, one is supposed to enjoy the adventure park with open eyes, no?
Elara chuckled. It was payback time, bitch.
