Samantha’s brother stepped forward, a feral glint in his eyes as he lowered his voice to a threat. “You destroyed my sister’s reputation, Trista. Your luck just ran out p>
Trista swept a cold look over the couple. “Samantha was charged with murder, and it was Cassian who personally handed her over to the cops. I never even saw the script for that soap opera, let alone acted in it. If you’re looking for someone to blame, you’ve got the wrong address p>
Madison stood to the side, crossing her arms with a sneer. “Stop playing the innocent victim. If you hadn’t been squatting in that position, Samantha would have been the Ironthorn Luna years ago. And if she were Luna, a ‘little mistake‘ like that would never have landed her in a cell. Cassian would’ve been too busy protecting her p>
“You ruined her life, and now Cassian has tossed you out like garbage. That’s karma, honey,” Angela added with a piercing laugh.
George took a step closer, the malice of a low–tier predator flickering in his eyes. “You used to have Ironthorn as a shield, so we couldn’t touch you. Now? You’re just a banished stray. L.A. isn’t a friendly place for losers. ”
Madison leaned in, her voice dripping with poisonous anticipation. “Enjoy tonight, honey. Your worst nightmare just arrived p>
Trista didn’t bother responding to the losers‘ circus act. She turned her back and walked away.
She was already doing the math in her head: Is it possible the new Blackthorn Luna is actually Samantha?
She immediately dismissed the thought, Samantha was currently wearing an orange jumpsuit in a maximum–security prison. Unless the Blackthorn Alpha was crazy enough to pull off a prison break, it
wasn’t her.
Trista started heading for the stairs to find Fred, but she was intercepted mid–way.

Trista studied “Mrs. Crees. ”
The woman looked to be in her early thirties, her makeup flawless and sharp. A deep red satin gown hugged her frame, highlighting a clearly visible baby bump.
She carried herself with the smug confidence of a winner.
There was something about her eyes–a familiar, unsettling look that Trista couldn’t quite place.

“Dr. Holmes, aren’t you supposed to be more observant than this? Still haven’t figured out who I am?” She arched a brow, her smile mocking.
At a quiet corner of the ballroom, Trista took a professional step back, maintaining a safe distance from the pregnant she–wolf.

Everything clicked.

Trista watched them walk away with a blank face. She knew the reality: Thomasina was the most pampered she–wolf in the Blackthorns right now, and the power she held was enough to turn the entire room against her.

The nauseating voice returned from behind her.
