Richard’s face drained. “What? The bodyguards—what good are they if my parents were seized? How could this happen?” He had always thought the Stint family untouchable, yet blow after blow left him reeling.
“They never stood a chance,” the voice choked. “Everyone in the family is under watch. They said if she isn’t returned by midnight tonight, they’ll wipe the Stint family out completely. Please, come back p>
Richard closed his eyes, rage and defeat battling across his face. When he looked at Lillian, it was with bitter resignation. “I’ll send you back. But you must guarantee my family’s safety p>
“Yes,” she answered at once.
“Richard, no!” Nicholas barked. “This is a trap. They want to lure you out p>
But Richard snapped, the edge of fury in his tone. “Enough, Nicholas. Do you want the entire Stint family to be buried? Those people are your blood as much as mine. Even if I want Stint Corp for myself, it won’t be built on the corpses of my kin p>
Lillian blinked, caught off guard. For the first time, she saw a side of Richard she hadn’t expected. No wonder Jill and Rina had come out of their abduction unharmed-he had a bottom line after all. It was Nicholas who had been pushing from the shadows.
