The Rolls-Royce eased to a stop in front of them. Foster quickly stepped out and opened the door, and Sebastian emerged.
“Sebastian, you’re more than half an hour late today,” Cameron teased with a grin.
Manny nudged him with his foot, joking, “Big mouth. It’s a miracle Sebastian’s even up this early. Didn’t you see who he was with last night p>

Noreen scanned the area around them and asked, feigning casual curiosity, “By the way, Sebastian, where’s Lillian p>
“Yeah, didn’t we all tell you-you had to bring her along?” Fawks added, equally puzzled.
Sebastian glanced back at the car, his deep, magnetic voice softened with tenderness. “She was exhausted last night-still fast asleep in the car p>
He had stayed with her until three in the morning, waiting for her to finish work. He’d realized by now that she pushed herself harder than even he did; if he hadn’t shown up yesterday, she probably would’ve forgotten to eat the entire day.
But words that seemed perfectly normal to him carried a different implication for the others.

Two hours later, a line of luxury cars rolled into the resort.
The hot spring resort had been built against the slopes of the Wolong Mountains. It was early spring, so the scenery was still a little bleak, but the air was crisp and fresh. Word was, the place had been constructed directly over natural springs-rare and highly prized.
The grounds stretched wide, offering nearly every form of recreation imaginable, golf, swimming, even a shooting range. Along with the hotel rooms, several private villas dotted the
estate.
The cars slowed to a stop at the entrance. Attendants rushed forward to open the doors.
The crowd nearby paused, murmuring as they caught sight of a particular license plate.

“Of course you have. That’s the chairman of Empire Group’s car. Can you believe he’s here for this auction too p>

Fawks stepped out, casting a glance at the Rolls beside him. “Strange… Sebastian hasn’t come out yet p>
No sooner had he spoken than the door opened. Sebastian stepped out with his steady, commanding stride, then reached back and drew a girl after him. He lifted a coat from the car and draped it over her shoulders, fastening it carefully; then, with practiced ease, he placed a baseball cap on her head.
