Lillian stepped closer, her tone laced with irony. “When you become Jeremy’s girlfriend, then you can talk about exercising your ‘rights.” She turned to Isabelle. “Come on. Let’s go.” With that, the two walked away without looking back.
Rosie’s eyes darkened as she watched them leave.
Beside her, Wanda muttered, “Honestly, Lillian wasn’t wrong. If they’re just friends, confronting her like this isn’t right. And you’re not Jeremy’s girlfriend yet. If he finds out you cornered her, he won’t be happy p>
“Are you on my side or hers?” Rosie snapped, then stormed off.
Wanda stared at her retreating figure, muttering, “I wasn’t wrong though. Women really are fickle.” She wandered off slowly.
