Back at the dorm, Isabelle and the others were already there.
Elsie, hugging a bag of chips, wandered over to Lillian, leaned against the desk, and stared at her with exaggerated curiosity.

Joah bowed slightly. “Mr. Merrick, the shooter was found at the hotel, but he was already dead. He had only just been released from prison, and it’s clear he had no connection to Million Corp p>
Merrick nodded. “So, he wasn’t after Million Corp. Then what was his real purpose p>
Eric hesitated for a moment, then spoke. “Grandfather, I find this all very suspicious. The surveillance footage shows the shooter went directly for Mr. Whitmore. But by sheer coincidence, Ms. Triny stepped in and took the bullet instead. Then, not long after, the shooter turned up dead. So who brought him in? What was his goal? Who killed him-and what was he trying to hide p>
“Exactly-and how did Ms. Triny know about the shooter’s existence in the first place? That’s the truly puzzling part,” Joah added.
Merrick’s brows furrowed deeply. “Go check Ms. Triny’s accounts; see if there have been any large withdrawals lately. And look into her connection with that Whitmore boy p>
“Yes, sir,” Joah replied, and with that, he turned and left the room.
