With one arm, he pulled her into his embrace and said, “I waited so long for you to grow up; how could I possibly risk my life and leave you behind? That gunshot may have looked serious, but I knew my limits, so there’s no need to worry p>
Lillian turned and wrapped her arms around his waist, pressing her face into his chest. “You’re never allowed to do something like that again, do you understand p>

Lillian quickly pulled away from Sebastian.
Just then, Evan walked in, followed by Foster and Ariana.
“Sebastian, are you alright? How could you get hurt out of nowhere?” Evan asked straightaway.
Sebastian smiled faintly. “I’m fine; just a small injury. A little rest and I’ll recover.” Thanks to the medicine the little one had given him, he was already almost healed; only his arm still needed time.
Evan sat on the sofa nearby, his gaze fixed on Sebastian’s arm in the sling. His voice rose sharply, “You call this a small injury? If the director hadn’t let it slip by accident, were you planning to keep it from your grandfather altogether p>
“Exactly, big brother. Do you not consider us family anymore?” Felix added from the side.
Sebastian rubbed his temples and smiled lightly. “No, that’s not it. It really is just a minor wound, so I didn’t want you all to worry. Besides, with Lillian here, nothing will happert to me p>
Evan’s eyes shifted toward Lillian, his expression suddenly stiff.
Lillian smiled and said, “Don’t worry; he’s fine, he just needs to rest.” She understood perfectly well why Evan looked uncomfortable, so she spoke up on her own.
Standing off to the side, Ariana lowered her voice with embarrassment. “Sebastian, what happened last time was my fault. I know I was wrong, and I hope you can give me a chance to make it right p>
Foster quickly chimed in, “That’s true, big brother. My sister hasn’t set foot outside lately; she’s been reflecting at home. Even Triny came to see her a few times, and she refused every time- she even told her never to come back p>

Ariana’s tears splattered onto the floor as she stood silently, not daring to argue.
Seeing her like that, Lillian turned her head aside; her eyes reddened, but she held back her anger, refusing to let it show.
Sebastian noticed her forced composure and reached out helplessly to ruffle her hair.
Evan sighed at the awkward tension. “Enough. Ariana was wrong this time. After all, no one has the right to demand forgiveness from someone they’ve hurt; what happens next is up to her p>
He then turned to Sebastian. “I also heard about what happened at the banquet. That Lindt girl -she’s alright, isn’t she?” He had only learned of it afterward.
Sebastian nodded. “She’s fine p>
“Unbelievable… how could something like that happen? And what are the odds she’d be the one to save you? With the Lindt family’s character, they’ll definitely try to use this as leverage.” Evan let out another weary sigh.
