Morten opened the file envelope with suspicion; a stack of photos slipped out, and when he saw the faces in them, his whole body trembled.
Triny caught sight of the photos as well and instantly felt a chill run through her.
“Triny, tell me-are these pictures of you?” Morten pointed at the woman in the photographs.
Triny shook her head frantically. “No, not me, it’s not me, that’s not me p>
Morten hurled the photos in her face, his eyes sharp with malice. “Fool. If you dare to scheme against others, you’d better make sure there are no loose ends. Otherwise, when you fail, you end up in their hands as leverage p>
Triny looked at the photos scattered on the ground, panic flooding her. They showed her sitting in a café with the shooter. Crying, she pleaded, “Grandfather, please, help me. I had no choice, really, I didn’t. I couldn’t bear to lose him, I couldn’t think of another way p>
Morten took a long, heavy breath. “Leave. Get out of Dracovia; go to any other country p>
Triny shook her head desperately. “No. No, I won’t go, I can’t leave home. If I go, then I’ll have no chance left at all p>
“You have no chance if you stay!” Morten roared. “And now that they have proof you hired someone to kill, do you want to end up in prison p>
Triny sobbed so hard she could barely breathe. “Then I’ll beg Sebastian-I’ll beg him to let me go.” She turned as if to run outside.
Morten’s palm cracked across her face. His eyes were filled with disappointment. “Do you really think you have that much influence, that he would ever let you go? You’ve let me down completely. After all I’ve done to raise you, to see you throw away your dignity for a man— shameful p>
Triny fell silent.
Morten drew another deep breath.
“Leave now, and maybe you’ll still have a chance. He dotes on that Lillian girl like she hung the moon, but a few years from now… who’s to say he won’t toss her aside like yesterday’s news? If you go abroad, rebuild yourself, maybe you’ll still be able to win him back p>
“Really?” A glimmer of hope flickered in Triny’s eyes as she choked out the words.
“With a heavy heart, Morten said, “Yes. Go abroad; let this matter fade, and when the time

Triny wiped her tears with the back of her hand. “Alright. I’ll go abroad p>
Morten looked at his granddaughter and shook his head helplessly.
Lillian, meanwhile, had no idea what was happening with the Lindt family.
At Kingston University, in the lab, Lillian was completely absorbed in dissecting a white mouse.
Isabelle stood beside her, her eyes full of distaste. “You’re so cruel. White mice are adorable- how can you bring yourself to cut one open p>

Lillian tossed the scalpel onto the tray, stripped off her gloves and mask, and smiled. “Go ahead. Better yet, have your mother come confront me at school. I’ll make sure to tell her Isabelle fainted during dissection class. What a disgrace-you’d embarrass the whole family.” With that, she walked out.
Isabelle pointed at her, laughing. “Oh, so you’re mocking me now.” She ran after her.
Just as they stepped out of the lab building, they spotted Jeremy standing with Rosie.
