As Lilian and Luna entered the banquet hall, all eyes turned toward them once more-especially toward Lilian. Her presence was captivating. The clarity of her gaze, like a sky full of stars, sparkled under the crystal chandelier, dazzling anyone who looked her way.
Many of the guests were visibly surprised. Some had seen Lilian before-at the Zhou family’s charity gala or the Shanks family’s appreciation banquet. Word of her extraordinary medical skills had already begun to circulate.
And the people she’d saved were among Solara’s most prominent figures. That alone gave Lilian a mysterious, almost legendary aura within this elite circle.
But Lilian paid no attention to the glances and whispers around her. As she and Luna were about to head toward the lounge area, they spotted Jill, Natalie, and Kelvin walking over.
“I thought you forgot all about us,” Jill pouted playfully, though she knew better than anyone how busy Lilian always was.
“I promised I’d come, didn’t I? When a beautiful girl invites you somewhere, how could I say no?” Lilian replied with a wink in Jill’s direction.
Natalie looped her arm through Lilian’s, grinning. “So that’s how it is? No wonder it’s so hard to get you to hang out. Guess I’m not ‘beautiful’ in your book p>
Lilian laughed at Natalie’s teasing. “Come on, drama queen. Have I ever said no to you when you asked me to hang out p>
Kelvin handed her a glass of juice from a passing waiter’s tray and smiled. “Ignore her. She’s always been like this-mischievous and full of tricks p>
Lilian took the juice without hesitation. There were a lot of younger guests at the party today, so they’d prepared more than just alcohol-there were plenty of non-alcoholic drinks, too.
As the group chatted, a commotion suddenly broke out near the entrance of the banquet hall.
Not far off, Yulia appeared, arm linked with Jeremy’s. Behind them were Jose and Shawn. Lilian froze for a moment-she hadn’t expected them to show up together.
Yulia also spotted Lilian and immediately clung tighter to Jeremy’s arm, a smug smile creeping onto her face. Jeremy walked over, Yulia right behind him. Stopping in front of Lilian, he greeted her politely.
“Lilian, you’re here too-for Ms. Luna’s birthday party p>
Before Lilian could respond, Yulia quickly jumped in. “Yeah! Lilian, if you’d told us you were coming, Jeremy and I could’ve picked you up. It must’ve been such a hassle taking a taxi p>
Lilian gave a faint smile, her eyes calmly locked on Yulia. She didn’t reply right away, simply studied the woman in front of her. In that moment, she almost admired Yulia’s nerve-after everything that had happened, she still had the gall to show up here and act like nothing had happened.
Yulia started to squirm under Lilian’s gaze, especially when she remembered that brutal kick from last time. Her body trembled slightly without her realizing it.

Jeremy was caught off guard, but quickly smiled. “He’s doing well. Thanks to you. My grandfather wanted me to say he hopes you’ll come by for dinner sometime when you’re free p>
Lilian gave a polite nod. “Please send him my regards. I’ll definitely visit when I have the time.” Then she turned to Jill. “Come on. Luna’s birthday party is starting. Let’s go check it out p>
With that, she walked off in Luna’s direction.
Behind her, Yulia watched Lilian’s graceful figure fade into the crowd, her eyes darkening with a poisonous glint.
