Inside the cabin, Sebastian gently brushed the hair away from her sweat-soaked face. Her pain was obvious, yet she never made a sound. That silent endurance crushed something deep in his chest. It made it hard to breathe.
“Sebastian… why are you here?” Lilian asked, her voice low, teeth clenched as she fought the heat ravaging her body.
Sebastian didn’t answer. He couldn’t. His fury hadn’t settled since the moment Unno called to tell him Lilian had been taken. His entire body had gone cold. It felt like his heart had stopped beating.
Terror and panic had overwhelmed him in an instant. He immediately mobilized every resource he had, tracked her location, and flew to Solara without stopping. Only when he saw her standing alone in the cold wind did his heart start beating again.
Her tightly clenched jaw, the wound on her arm, the sweat on her brow-all of it screamed at him: He had failed to protect her. And it made his blood boil with helpless rage.
The helicopter flew steadily toward the Light Estate and touched down on the helipad. Sebastian hadn’t said a single word the entire flight. He just held her tightly the whole time. Lilian had fallen unconscious from the energy it took to suppress the drug in her body.
The butler and staff were already waiting outside. Seeing Sebastian carrying a girl in his arms, Louis immediately understood who she was and quickly instructed the staff to prepare.
