At that moment, in a dimly lit bar, Misty was drowning herself in liquor, muttering under her breath, “Why? Why should I apologize to some bumpkin girl? Who does she think she is?” She grabbed another glass and downed it in one gulp. Her makeup was completely ruined, and she looked a total mess.
Lily sat beside her, trying to comfort her. “Exactly. You’re the eldest daughter of the Lincoln family. How could you possibly lower yourself to apologize to some small-town doctor?” Her eyes flashed coldly like a venomous snake as she poured another drink and handed it to Misty.
“I’ve never been humiliated like this in my entire life. That bitch… If I don’t teach her a lesson, then I’m not Misty.” Misty spat the words out with venom.
Lily looked at her twisted expression, a strange glint flickering in her eyes.
Meanwhile, Lilian had no idea that danger was creeping her way.
Early the next morning, just after she woke up, Justin brought over all the property transfer contracts for Wings Corp.
Lilian glanced at him with a teasing smile. “Mr. Justin, you’re really on top of things. Showing up at the crack of dawn p>
Justin didn’t mind her teasing. He grinned. “Just trying to avoid any unexpected changes. If you suddenly change your mind and decide not to save my father, it’ll be too late to regret it p>
Lilian took the documents, skimmed through them, and, after confirming there were no issues, signed her
name.
After breakfast, she and Justin headed to Barry’s room to begin treatment.
By midday, the treatment was complete. Justin was visibly impressed by her medical skills.
Lilian checked the time and said, “Your father should wake up later tonight. When he does, give him one of these pills every day.” She handed over a small bottle of pills.
“And a word of advice,” she added, “your father was poisoned with something from Xanderport. You should ask yourself who around him would be capable of that. Just a heads-up p>
She didn’t want to get involved in the Lincoln family’s affairs, but a warning wouldn’t hurt.
Justin froze for a second as if something clicked in his mind, His gaze darkened. “Thanks for the warning. I owe you one. If you ever need help from me, just say the word p>
Lilian smiled. “I’m sure I’ll be needing Mr. Justin’s help before long p>
With the business in Sandy River mostly wrapped up, Lilian went to visit Jimmy. Because he had been bedridden for so long, his body still needed time to recover. He couldn’t get out of bed yet.

That’s when it hit Jimmy-this incredible girl was still so young. He laughed. “So the little miracle doctor’s still in school, huh? Alright then. If I ever get the chance, I’ll come visit you in the mainland. Just don’t get sick of me p>
Lilian’s smile was as clear as spring water. “Sure. Let me know when you do p>
After exchanging numbers, Lilian said her goodbyes.
She gave her farewells to Mr. Quinton as well, then got into the car the Lincoln family had arranged for her.
The car drove smoothly onto the highway. Lilian had her eyes half-closed, dozing off, when a faint, almost undetectable scent began to fill the air. She snapped awake. It was a tranquilizer. It didn’t affect her, but the fact that someone dared drug her en route meant this was no simple matter.
Sensing the car picking up speed, she pulled out a silver needle and pressed it to the driver’s neck, her voice sharp. “Who sent you p>
The driver said nothing. The car sped up even more.
When he didn’t respond, Lilian knocked him out with a swift kick and grabbed the wheel. But when she hit the brakes, nothing happened-the brake line had been cut. Worse, a small timed explosive had been planted near the pedals. The countdown showed less than two minutes left.
She looked ahead-traffic was dense on the bridge during rush hour/ If the bomb exploded now, the consequences would be unimaginable.
The car barreled forward at full speed. The sea stretched out beneath the bridge: At this velocity, jumping out was no longer an option. She steered as carefully as possible to avoid hitting other vehicles.
But time was almost up.
With a grim resolve, she jerked the wheel and drove straight off the overpass.
Boom.
The car exploded mid-air and plunged into the sea below,
