Justin looked up at him, still puffing on his cigarette. “The same mess you already know about. The family, the company-everything’s a disaster. There’s not a single solution in sight p>
Jimmy hesitated for a moment, then asked in a low voice, “Justin… is/Lilian really gone for good p>
Justin took a long drag and answered hoarsely, “Yeah. The blast was too powerful. They only managed to recover a few scraps. Not even one complete piece p>
Jimmy thought of that bright, cheerful girl-still so young, not even a chance to live a full life. Now it was all over. His chest tightened with grief. If she hadn’t agreed to their father’s request to come save them… maybe none of this would’ve happened.
Though the official search had ended, Sebastian refused to give up. He doubled the manpower and kept combing the area. Deep down, he was certain-Lilian was still alive.
Pressure from Kingston and overseas branches kept piling up.

“Really? Then why did she put herself in danger, knowing I’d suffer? She knows she’s everything to me, and yet she still chose such a cruel way to leave me,” Sebastian said in anguish. Just the thought of never seeing that girl again made it hard for him to breathe.

A single tear slid down Sebastian’s cheek. “That’s enough. You can go. I’ll rest. We’re returning to Kingston tomorrow p>
That night, Sebastian returned to his bedroom. As soon as he opened the door, a faint medicinal scent drifted toward him.
Startled, Sebastian scanned the room. On the bed was a slight bump. A soft blue glow surrounded the figure lying there. He stared, breathless. Slowly, the glow faded away.
Nervously, he approached the bed. There she was, fast asleep. Her long lashes cast shadows on her pale cheeks. Her softly curled hair fanned out across the pillow. A white dress draped over her slender frame like something out of a dream.
If it weren’t for the subtle rise and fall of her chest, he might have thought it was another illusion.
Trying not to make a sound, Sebastian lay down beside her. He reached out and pulled her gently into his arms. The warmth of her skin confirmed it-she was real. She was really back. This wasn’t a dream.
Watching her sleep peacefully in his arms, Sebastian finally felt his heart begin to beat again.
But when he recalled the faint blue glow that had surrounded her moments ago, his eyes darkened slightly. Still, none of that mattered. What mattered was-she was back.
Maybe it was exhaustion, or maybe it was the girl’s faint scent, but for the first time in days, Sebastian let go of the tension in his body… and slowly drifted off to sleep.
