Afternoon sunlight streamed through the windows, casting a golden glow across every corner of the bedroom.
Lilian didn’t wake up until three in the afternoon.
She raised her hand to rub her temples and looked around the unfamiliar room, confused. Where was she? How did she end up here?
She sat up and lifted the blanket, just about to get out of bed when the door opened.
She looked up and saw him.
He walked in with a faint smile on his sculpted, handsome face. Gone was the usual suit and tie-instead, he wore a black sweater and beige slacks. It gave him the air of a refined aristocrat, effortlessly noble.
