Lilian looked at them, her lips curving into a cold, mocking smile. “Mr. Quinton. Mr. Justin. Long time no see p>
“Lilian, you’re really okay?” Mr. Quinton finally found his voice, visibly anxious. He didn’t even flinch at the coldness in her tone.
She sneered. “Yeah. I wasn’t murdered by your wife and granddaughter. I guess that means my luck’s pretty good p>
Their faces flushed with shame. They knew Misty and Lian Qianqian were responsible for what happened, but as members of the Lincoln family, they couldn’t wash their hands of it so easily.
“Lilian, I’m truly sorry,” Justin said, guilt etched into every word. “I never imagined Misty would do something like that. I know there’s nothing I can say to undo what you’ve suffered, but I’m here to beg you -please let the Lincoln family go. Whatever your conditions are, we’ll agree to them p>
Mr. Quinton echoed him in a nearly pleading voice. “Yes, child. For my sake, please let those two off the hook. I owe you. I’ll make sure you get justice p>
It was likely the first time in his life that the old man had ever bowed his head this low.
Lilian looked at the once-proud patriarch, who now showed none of his former dignity. For the sake of his family, he’d stooped to this. Her heart twisted slightly, but the memories of what Misty and Lian Qianqian had done stiffened her resolve.
“Mr. Quinton, go home,” she said flatly. “I need time to think. Don’t pressure me. You know exactly what they did. If you think I’ll just forgive them and let it slide-sorry, I can’t do that p>
Without another glance, she walked toward the villa.
She’d lived through death once. She no longer had the luxury of being softhearted or noble. She’d never known kindness herself-how could she be expected to give it freely?
Sebastian cast a cold look at the two men, then followed her inside.
That night, neither of them slept.

Justin took the hint and quickly left.
Lilian watched his retreating back, a strange sense of sorrow flickering inside her. Who could’ve foreseen everything that had happened?
Still, it was over now. Time to go home.
She stood, stretched, and said, “I’m going to pack. We’re flying back to Solara this afternoon p>
Just as she was about to leave, a low, lazy voice called after her.
“Lilian… aren’t you forgetting something p>
She paused and looked back. Sebastian was lounging on the sofa, obsidian eyes fixed on her with heat. He sipped his coffee slowly, gaze unwavering.
Caught off guard, she blinked. “Um… thanks p>
“That’s it?” he murmured.
Before she could react, she was suddenly pulled into his arms.
He gently caressed her cheek, his voice low and husky, full of temptation. “Lilian, tell me-how are you going to thank me p>
Flustered, her face turned pink. She forced a smile and said awkwardly, “Well… Sebastian, I’m still really young. How about… I treat you to dinner when we’re back p>
