Chapter 48
A R I A N A
The cab stopped at the old, crumbling warehouse my heart was pounding so hard it hurt, I paid the driver and got out, my legs feeling like jelly.
Before I could even take a step, two big men grabbed me they were my father’s guards.
“Let me go! I need to see my son!” I screamed, fighting against them.
They didn’t say a word.
They just dragged me inside the dark, cold warehouse, the smell of oil and dust made me cough.
They took me to a small, dirty room and pushed me inside, one of them tied my hands behind my back with a rough rope.
It bit into my wrists.
“Where is my son?” I cried. “Where is Asher?
Please just take me to him, I’ll give you anything you want” I pleaded
They ignored me and walked out, locking the door behind them.
I was left alone, tied up and scared.
I struggled against the ropes trying to kissing up but who was I kidding? it was no use.
I was trapped.
Then the door unlocked and opened again.
I looked up, hoping it was my father, hoping I could beg for my son’s life, hoping he’d listen to me and not make any rash decisions.
As I lift my eyes up I see Angelo, he stood in the doorway, a smirk on his lips looking pleased with himself.
My mouth fell open as a gasp slipped.
I couldn’t believe it, what the fuck was Angelo doing here? Was he working with my father?
But how?
This doesn’t make any sense.
“Angelo? What… what are you doing here p>
He walked into the room, his hands in his pockets. “Hello, Ariana, miss me p>
Realization crashed over me.
He was in on it.
“You fucking asshole!” I screamed, rage boiling inside me. “Where is my son? What have you done with him p>
Angelo chuckled. “Oh, he’s safe for now.” He walked closer and leaned down, his face inches from mine. “You know, if only your sweet Dante Russo could see you now all tied up and helpless” he mocked
I spat in his face.
His smirk vanished.
His eyes turned cold and angry, backhanding me across the face, hard my head snapped to the side, and I tasted blood.
“You bitch,” he snarled, wiping his face. “You think you’re so high and mighty? You’re nothing but a cheating whore, you call me a cheater but turns out you’re the fucking cheat p>
“Fuck you Angelo” I sobbed, my cheek burning.
“You fuckingcheated on me!” he yelled, his voice echoing in the small room. “Back in college! You had a whole secret baby! You lied to me for years! You made me look like a fool! And you go about calling me a cheat? When the real cheat here is you”
I stared at him, shocked.
“All this time, I thought you were this perfect, innocent girl that I fell in love with,” he said, his voice full of disgust. “But you were just a slut a lying, cheating slut p>
The words cut deeper than any slap he was twisting everything making it my fault.
“I never cheated on you! It was a mistake that night at the bar” I cried.
“Liar!” he shouted, grabbing my hair and forcing me to look at him. “We got engaged that fucking night! How could you fuck another man with my ring in your finger? You know, You’re nothing but a dirty whore”
“Oh fuck you Angelo! I did everything for you, I made you who you were before you fucked it up.” I say but he hisses looking away.
“Ariana Lopez or Melendez, you’re fucked up now and there’s nothing you can’t fucking do about it” he spat and let go of me and walking toward the door. “Don’t worry you’ll see your bastard son soon enough so enjoy the little time you have with him left, unless you do exactly as asked p>
“Wait! No p>
“Wait!” I screamed but he ignores locking the door behind him leaving me alone again, tied up, crying, and filled with so much fear.
What now? What’s going to happen to my son?
Asher has to be okay, I couldn’t loose him
Anegelo’s words rand into my head his horrible words echoed in my head.
Cheating whore.
Lying slut.
Bastard son.
I may have made a mistake by losing my virginity to a stranger but I got the most beautiful thing in return… Asher and I didn’t regret having him.
He’s the best thing that has happened to me and the thought of losing him scares me.
More tears streamed down my face, mixing with the blood from where he had hit me.
My son.
My sweet, innocent Asher.
Where was he? He’s probably scared
A raw, guttural scream tore from my throat the fear getting to me, I couldn’t hold it in anymore.
“Asher!” I screamed, my voice cracking and hoarse. “My baby! Please, please be okay! Mummy is here! Mummy is coming for you p>
I thrashed against the ropes binding my wrists, not caring that they cut deeper into my skin.
“I’m sorry!” I sobbed, my body shaking uncontrollably. “I’m so sorry, Asher! This is all my fault p>
“Please… just don’t hurt him… punish me instead… just let him go p>
The door slipped open the light from the hallway spilled into the dark room, outlining a tall, familiar figure.
My father stood in the doorway his face a cold as usual.
He stood there observing me without saying a word.
