The Little Girl.
It was a busy Monday.
The moment Serena and Silas arrived in Velmon City, they checked in at the new Astoria Velmon Hotel. While Silas met with the executives at Grand Mercy Hospital, Serena met with the realty company in one of the hotel’s business lounges. There were six in total, all meant for private business meetings.
Silas could not bring any children to the hospital, so the twins stayed at the hotel with Serena. The bodyguards and Leslie often followed them around.
Sebastian and Alisa were often at the playroom, but now and then, the children would enter the business lounge assigned to Serena and the realty company.
“This is the final contract, Miss Kline-” the lawyer paled, realizing his mistake. “I’m sorry. It’s just that the document changes still confuse me p>
Serena nodded. She understood. The original deed of sale was under Serena Kline’s name, but the title was now under her new name. However, Serena had already shown the realty company and their lawyers all the transition documents proving her real identity.
Some of them, the ones who followed Victor Kline’s story, were taken aback. One executive even commented, “Victor was really an evil man.
Serena had given them brief details of how it happened. They understood one thing: Serena was taken from her family when she was young.

Just then, Leslie, the maid, walked in with Alisa. She said, “Miss Serena, Bastin fell asleep. He was running around so much earlier that he got tired. He’s with Sir Milo in the room. Ali is bored at the playroom p>
Ali tugged on Serena’s blouse and pointed outside.
It was nearly Christmas, and the hotel had been decorated with vibrant lights and lanterns. Serena smiled at Ali and pinched her cheek. “Mommy is almost done. You and Leslie can watch the Christmas lights p>

Ali turned around, looked out the glass window, then nodded. She and Leslie stepped outside to wander around the hotel lobby and near the business lounges.

That day, he allowed himself a full four hours of sleep. He dressed carefully, wanting to look presentable for Mr. Silas Vander. Beyond thanking the Vanders for selling him their technology, Nathaniel also hoped to discuss a possible partnership. Coming from pharmaceutical and biological research, Nathaniel believed their companies could complement each other. With VanderMed focused on medical technology and his companies on treatment development, he saw a chance to create better medical solutions for people around the world.
Nathaniel had been in one of the business lounges of the Astoria Velmon Hotel, waiting for time to pass. As he did, he went through several marketing strategies that the NC Pharmacies Sales Director had prepared for him.

Gavin rushed out so fast that three folders fell from the table, and several documents scattered onto the floor. He even left the door open.
Nathaniel sighed. He was about to get up when a little girl walked in, a guardian following behind her.
The little girl was adorable. She had light brown hair and skin as white as pearl, and for a second, Nathaniel was almost certain she had hazel eyes, the same kind Serena had.
The sight of the little girl made his chest ache.
He remembered Serena,

“Oh no, you don’t have to do that,” Nathaniel said, finally standing.
“It’s okay, sir. She does this,” the guardian replied.
Before he knew it, the little girl had stacked the papers together, grouping them by the color of their Post-it tabs and straightening the edges until they were aligned. He noticed the order only after-red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet-laid out with quiet precision.
The little girl handed the papers to Nathaniel.
Their eyes met for a brief second.
Nathaniel didn’t know why, but something about her gaze made his chest ache even
more.
“Here, sir,” the guardian said, handing him the remaining folders. “We’re sorry to intrude p>
“Let’s go, Ali,” the woman said, holding the girl’s hand.
But the little girl didn’t move. Instead, she walked over to the nearby couch and sat
down.
The guardian laughed softly. “I’m sorry. We’re waiting for her mom to finish p>
“It’s okay,” Nathaniel said. “You can both take a seat and wait for her p>
It took forever for Gavin to return. Nathaniel could only imagine how much “leak” he needed to take care of.
As Nathaniel continued his work, he adjusted the stacked papers. The little girl named Ali might have grouped them by Post-it color, but they weren’t arranged by page number.
After he finished arranging the first set of documents, Ali stood up from her seat and pointed to a paper that stood out.
Nathaniel looked at her. Seeing the determination in her eyes, he adjusted the paper properly. He asked, “Is that to your satisfaction, Ali p>
Ali nodded and returned to her seat.
Nathaniel began signing the documents. Midway through, he rested his pen on the table and stretched his back. Before he could resume, Ali stood up again and reached for his pen.

At that moment, Gavin suddenly rushed back into the room, panicking and waving
his hands.
